So I thought that my laptop battery was just dead because it would never hold charge, so i got a brand new HP replacement, and neither battery will charge on my laptop. The little charging light on the laptop just blinks, sometimes it goes away, sometimes it shows up, but either way, it wont charge the old battery or the new one...

Any suggestions as to what could be going wrong?

When you have the AC adapter connected to the laptop does the battery charge?

...if your battery is at 20% and you plug in your AC adapter, does the % increase?

secondly, test your AC adapter.

does it work fine with just AC power? I had a problem like this once, the ac jack on the laptop was messed up.
