I just installed new memory in my computer, but I heard that after I do this, I am supposed to change my virtual memory settings. I think that the formula is just your new memory amount * 1.5. I now have 1536MB, so in the virtual memory settings, I changed initial size to 2304MB and the maximum size to 2304MB. Is this correct?

Let windows manage your virtural memory unless you have a good reason not to.
