I think I'd be a good Soap Box mod

but I'm not sure if I want the job or not. Leaning towards "yes", but I'd be pretty hesitant to suspend anyone for doing what salisburyboy does.

The chit-chattish threads ("W is the dumbest President ever! You're stupid if you like him" or "All you liberals are pussyfied, un-American faggots") would get deleted, and if someone made a habit of it, I'd boot 'em.

Trolling simply to be a pain in the ass (esgargs/ultra) would also be a one way ticket to Suspendville.

salisburyboy, while a pain in the ass and clinically insane, isn't out to annoy anyone, and at least he's thinking. Not logically, but he's thinking. I'd honestly have a little restraint when it came to squeezing the trigger on him.

But I would probably be substantially quicker to lock some of his threads, and if he refused to exercise some moderation in the amount he broadcasts his lunacy, I'd put him on ice for a couple of weeks again...and again each subsequent time he grossly overstepped the bounds of the "reasonable person" test of how much is too much.


What in the hell, I guess I talked myself into it, on the condition that there is a fair amount of popular support for it. Basically, if y'all want me to do it, I'll do it.

but just because he's crazy as shit and likes to cut and paste isn't in and of itself reason to suspend him, regardless of what I personally would LIKE to do. I just can't ideologically justify it very easily.

But, I'm pretty pragmatic rather than ideological. There is, of course, a point at which I would say "I've had it--be gone."

the best strategy for dealing with salisburyboy is perpetual suspensions. as soon as he posts a prisonplanet link or links the zionists to anything, he gets a two week suspension. after two weeks, he's free to post as much as he likes but then as soon as he slips up and starts unrolling the tinfoil he gets shut up again before he can destroy anything.

i don't think what he's doing deserves a permanent ban, because he's not being malicious.... but by the same token he shouldn't be allowed to destroy everything with his paranoid jew conspiracies

i wouldnt bother suspending him. id just lock all his threads as soon as he started using the paste instead of replying to questions. at that time there is no more debate and it should be locked.

i agree that "w is gay" and the like are more annoying and should be deleted and/or result in suspensions though.

I was against suspending salisburyboy the first time, but honestly, the soap box got so much better after he was gone that I'm glad he got resuspended.
