The Maanjri Lounge could be the start of a much needed facelift for Hillsborough Street! Big dance floor, good DJ, and awesome set up. It's above Sir Speedy and everyone needs to check it out. $5 cover and it's soon going to be a "members" club. It's probably one of the best clubs in Raleigh near NCSU and it's basically on campus. Come out and check it out for yourself!!!

Kings had to become a members club for the same reason. I think membership is $1, but it might be more. It's definitely less than $5. Anyway, I hate clubs and as soon as I heard the stuff about the velvet rope on opening night at Maanjri I knew I'd never go there. I'll go to a bar if there are people I'd enjoy talking to and/or good food there, so it's out of the question.

I think there's something in it that applies to "prepared food," which is why the tax is also different on groceries vs. restaurant dinners.

I think they only have a cover on Wednesday nights (College night- when they let 18+ in). Normally they are 21+. Membership is $1. I've had a great time everytime I've gone.
