Ok i asked this earlier during the summer, but i never had the money to fix it.

My heat and AC has "stopped" working.

Let me explain.

If I put level on MAX nothing blows out of the vents. If I put it on the next highest level, air will blow out(hot or cold...depending on where the temp knob is turned to), but if I am sitting still no air comes out.

Someone said earlier that it could either be my blower motor was bad or a switch in the console was bad. I don't work on cars and since I was moving, I didn't have the extra money to get it fixed.

I need to get it fixed now because I can't defrost my windshield before I leave for work on some mornings.

Any ideas? How much would it cost? Would someone be willing to do it for me from TWW? I live in Greensboro, so hopefully there are some local TWW garage junkies in the area.

Thanks in advanced

yeah you need to start by checking the vacuum line from under the hood to the HVAC controls. i had the same problems on my old astro van, the blower motor not working on high is likely the blower motor resistor, also called a rheostat.

i have a livid hatred for contours, i had to put an egr tube in one last week, had to take damn near half the wiring on the engine off to move the harness to get to the rear manifold

when you set it to max, the system switches to "recirculate" preventing outside air from coming in. when it is on the other setting, it draws air from the outside which explains why air blows only when you are moving. check the blower motor fuse. if it's not blown, most likely the motor is burnt up.

ok...where would that fuse be at?

If I was closer to home, I would just take it to my brother in law's house. He does a lot of work on cars(he used to race some in the late 80's early 90's)

It doesn't do this anymore but after the AC/Heat died on me last summer, there were times when it would all of the sudden start working on the max setting, and it would keep working until I cut the car off.

^^well, if it would all of a sudden start working, then it isn't the fuse. sounds to me like your fan motor needs replacement.
