So I got the T43 from IBM and there internet connection is all weird. You have to set up location profiles and I did that but every 20/25 minutes the profile is disconnected then connected again. This really screws up whenever I download something. What should I do? Should I just delete the profile and make another one? 1/22/2006 11:47:28 PM |

I'm not sure what profile you're talking about, but if I had to take a guess, I would guess there was something causing interference, temporarily killing the internet. Could be someone using a cordless phone or a microwave in the vicinity of the computer/router.
If you have control over the router, try changing its channel and location (to be away from any 2.4 Ghz cordless phones or microwaves). 1/23/2006 1:28:22 AM |

That app is called Access Connections and it isn't the problem, nor is your wireless card, or anything with your machine.
Make sure you have the profile set up properly - if you are running Ethernet, be sure the profile says to use Ethernet and TURN OFF the wireless, otherwise, your wireless will probe for broadcasting SIDS every so often and can produce the problem you're talking about. 1/24/2006 12:59:22 PM |
