On Wednesday 1/25, Interfraternity Council, Panhellenic Association and Student Government are co-sponsoring a Brickyard Cookout to involve students in the possible changes being made to NCSU tailgating.

The event will be from 11am-1pm in the Brickyard. Possible changes being proposed include no passes out, the clearing of all tailgating in the lots after the game has begun, etc. The three groups are holding this event to pass out surveys to students so their input on tailgating can be passed along to the Chancellor's committee on this issue.

Traditional tailgating food will be available to students for lunch to encourage participation in this event!

That's all the info I have, sorry if any of these details are incorrect, they came and spoke at our chapter meeting tonight and recruited volunteers. I don't know anymore specifics, but if you're on campus anyways just wander over that direction.

If you think about it, 4 hours to tailgate should be plenty...so the administration wont look any farther into it. What they're failing to realize is that traffic becomes a dirty slut when everyone tries to show up at the same time. Allowing us to get there whenever the hell we want gets about 1/3 of the fans in the lot before 4 hours before the game. The way it is now, you try to show up 4 hours early and you suck exaust fumes for an hour in traffic, then take another hour to set up a good tailgate, then in an hour you have to start packing...leaving about 1 hour to really tailgate...or less.

If they put a 1 hour limit on tailgating, even if just in the student lot, they may as well kiss the football program goodbye.

I'm a little surprised Chuck hasnt stepped in and tried to do something about it. If the atmosphere at the games sucks because people dont want to come anymore (and yes, tailgating brings more people to the games), recruits arent going to come, we're gonna suck even more, and CTC is gonna get canned.

Wasnt one of the reasons we had such a good class last year because of the Miami game's atmosphere, even though we got smashed? The administration needs to open their eyes. This isnt just going to hurt the students ability to have a little fun...its gonna kill the program.

i am so mad this is one of the only reasons i got into college football, now its my favorite besides nfl going to games because you have a great time. ^even better than that... put up a few signs saying that officers WILL write those tickets. That way, when they do start writing tickets, people might actually listen. They dont even need to increase police force, just actually ENFORCE the rules.

Something like "Tailgate at your own risk...Officers on duty enforce public intoxication laws", then let everyone back into the lots whenever they want.

^ thats not a bad idea, just make some examples out of the people being completely rediculous and causing trouble. From what I see I would say at least 80%-90% of the people there are out there to have fun and not cause any problems.

I get mad about this shit everytime too, I have had the oppurtunity to have only 1 "real" tailgate experience while I was a student and that was the Richmond game last year...when two fuck-ups ruined the fun for everyone.
