i need to get the audio from some instructional dvds converted to mp3 (so i can listen to them @ work)...do i need a program to do this, and if so, what program?...sorry, you're going to have to dumb this down for me as much as possible

ps the dvd has the following file types on it...*.bup, *.ifo, *.vob

so, i have the correct location of "be sweet" entered...i have the correct vob selected for "input"...i've tried creating both an mp3 and a wav file as the output...neither conversion is working....

thanks, i eventually figured that out (should've checked back sooner!)...my last questions (hopefully): are *.vob files usually consecutive (1, 2, 3, etc.) or is there some overlap in the audio? also, do you have troubles w/ the transcoding fucking up when the screen saver kicks in or another program is running? finally, i've been trying to batch process the *.vob files for each DVD...do you find it easier to batch them into a single *.mp3 or multiple *.mp3s?

after using be sweet for a while, i realized that very few of my conversions were completing...i figured it was an issue w/ the software so i downloaded River Past (an audio conversion tool that looked much more user-friendly)....it worked fine for a couple of dvds, but now i'm running into the same problem again (incomplete conversions)...any idea what's going on?

oh, and the dvds are in great shape, so it's not an error caused by scratches...

are you sure it's not just a shareware issue with the software only allowing a certain amount of conversion unless you buy?

i use Ace DVD Audio Extractor, btw; it's not as nice as the one MiniMe linked, but I've got a working version of it at least.

no, i actually bought the software (yeah, i know it sucks, but i just wanted to get this done w/ software that's reliable) and i've installed about every filter, converter, compressor, etc. that River Past recommends...i've e-mailed tech support, but i just thought someone might have had this problem before...

i just checked to make sure it was activated because i've installed and uninstalled it several times...it is activated...think it's just shitty software? problems w/ my dvd-rom? who knows?
