currently i have a cisco router providing DHCP. and a few linksys switches that provide ethernet connections / internet to 10 desktops and IP phones at each desk. also have a linksys wireless connection attached for the firewall and about 4 laptops.
we're renting an office suite down the hall. all the cabling is done. now i'm going to be adding 10 pc's and maybe 5 more wireless laptops.
what all do i need? 1/27/2006 12:24:36 PM |

Does the cabling connect the two suites? if so, all you need is another switch to add enough port density and an AP. 1/27/2006 12:36:37 PM |

yeah the cabling connects the two suites. it's actually 2 cables. they divided the new suite into to patch panels. i'm considering one panel for voice the other for data. so I'll have to uplink the 2 cables from my 2 switches in the old suite to 2 new 12-port switches in the new suite.
i think it should work. are the linksys switchs plug and play or will i have to configure them. i have a router doing DHCP already. 1/27/2006 12:54:44 PM |

AFAIK, linksys switches are unmanaged. 1/27/2006 1:25:14 PM |
