there is a squeaking coming from what i think is the power steering pump pulley on my 01 ranger. is it possible to just replace the pulley/bearings or will i have to replace the whole pump? 1/27/2006 3:01:45 PM |

tried replacing the belt yet? if not, then no, you have to get a whole pump 1/27/2006 4:11:52 PM |

if the squeaking is from the belt, tighten it up or replace it if it keeps on. don't overtighten it. if the squeaking is from inside the pump, you'll have to replace the pump 1/27/2006 4:12:21 PM |

I'm stating the obvious here, but you need to check the fluid. Ford power steering pumps are loud, and they get louder if the fluid gets low. I have had several that leaked at the O-rings where the lines attached to the pump. 1/27/2006 10:12:48 PM |
