A pre-operative male-to-female transsexual takes an unexpected journey when she learns that she fathered a son, now a teenage runaway hustling on the streets of New York.

I haven't had a chance to see this one yet, but the people who screened it last night said it was really good. Felicity Huffman (Sports Night, Desperate Housewives) plays a man in the process of a sex change who finds out (s)he has a teenaged son. She won the Golden Globe for best actress in a drama for the part (along with similar awards from about 4 other associations).

It's got a 7.8 on IMDB and 77% on RottenTomatoes. It should be pretty good.

Opening this Friday at Galaxy Cinema. Showtimes at 2:00, 4:20, 7:10, and 9:25. $5.50 tickets for students at all times. Come see it!

I just saw it, it was really good. Basically just a funny, sort of touching (I hate to say that) movie.

the premise just reminds me of that billy crystal/robin williams movie that nobody remembers...

i mean, i know its not the same movie

Well, I dunno. This is a movie that fairly seriously deals with the subject matter of sexual reassignment. Although it would have been better if Robin Williams was wearing a fat suit.
