theres something fubar with one of our switches and if i dont clear the arp cache every 10 minutes or so, no one can connect to shit.

So i sent the cisco lady some info and now shes supposed to get back to me in 20-30 mins :-(

and the network isn't even my freakin domain. Im the fucking notes guy.

I finally convinced the higher ups to give me a physical box for notes and i've got that shit running so smooth right now.

I was about to have a bunch of time to work on our asterisk project, but noooooo.

So alteast cisco lady thought she knew what it might be. Some broadcasting issue. or whatever

....

ok done.

i still have a lab write up i gotta do for tommorrow :-P

oh well.

you sure a machine isn't hacked and trying to arp poison the subnet/gateway? maybe do an nmap scan of the domain, or capture some traffic. atleast its something to do while you wait

dirty hack was to set the arp aging time and cache timeout to 300 sec.

Going to plan some downtime so we can apply the latest IOS.
