"DP: At what point did you say, I'm just gonna embrace this whole "they don't like me" thing?
JJ: Sophomore year. I decided its okay to be the villain and have fun with it.
DP: When did you realize that people dislike you just because you're at Duke?
JJ: Midway through freshman year, during road games. I realized people genuinely hated Duke. It shocked me at first
DP:You know who I blame it on?
JJ: Maryland?
DP: Danny Ferry and Christian Laettner... they started it.

DP: So you write poetry? How much do you get killed on the road about that?
JJ: All the time. one time at Wake Forest, they had a picture of a guy in a Shakespeare outfit, they'd Photoshopped my face onto it. It was pretty funny.
DP: That's a compliment.
JJ: They're calling me Shakespeare.

DP: So, um... Pilates?
JJ: yeah i do pilates. Where are you getting this information from?
DP: You're soft! Poetry? Pilates? I mean, come on
JJ: Pilates is a great workout. Keeps me in tune with my body.
DP: Girls do that stuff"

he wont make it in the pros, cept as POSSIBLY a situational 3-pt shooter or set play guy. too many guards are both taller and quicker than JJ and would give him hell all night long.

^thats exactly what i thought until this season. this season no matter who has been put on jj hes found ways to get his points. everytime. and in college the entire team's defense is focused on stopping jj. i think he'll be decent in the pros because he will only have 0-1 guy devoted to him with the type of scorers that are on every nba team (so it probobly wont be thte best defender on the team.) its not like hes never been defended by an nba type player before. now his defense...thats where he'll catch hell in the nba.

he'll struggle some playing defense, but I think Redick will still be a good offensive player in the NBA. The stuff about him not being able to get his shot off in the pros is just stupid, since hardly anyone in the NBA plays defense consistently.

players play off of the offensive player so they cant beat em off the dribble. redick cant do that, so he'll have a tougher time. he also will only have 24 seconds to run off 10-15 screens as opposed to 35 seconds. he can play the exact same role as kerr, but be a bit more cocky about it.

Ever heard of Chris Jackson? He played at LSU, was bad as hell, scored 55 pts in his fifth college game as a freshman, etc. He never became shit in the NBA. As a side note, he changed his name to Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf or some other terrorist sounding shit.

JJ reminds me of him some. Jackson was more of a slasher than shooter, but I think JJ is going be just a role player in the NBA. Following in the footsteps of other great Dukies.

he's no different than someone like kyle corver. Corver has a bit more height, but look at other guys like kapono. Reddick is WAY better and that dude has a place on an nba team. but then again, look at a guy like trajan langdon. It's a guessing game, but I believe Redick is gonna be a solid 10-15 ppg player. Nothing spectacular, but not bad for a mid-sized whitey either

^ I don't know about that. Kapono is 6'8 and Korver is 6'6' and both shoot 42% from NBA range. JJ is listed as 6'4 (will probably be shorter once he has to go through NBA camps and gets officially measured) and shoots 43% from college range. Plus Kapono hardly plays. Korver is a regular contributer to the 76ers. I think JJ will be a Steve Kerr wannabe in that he'll never be a 50% 3 pt shooter like Kerr.

is everyone forgetting that no one really plays defense in the NBA????

jj won't even have to run around to get open (at least not near as much) and he has gotten better off the dribble so yes he can be very good in the NBA

im not saying a perennial all-star or anything but he can be very good

i addressed that. they play defense in the nba, but they lay off so they dont get beaten off the dribble. redick cannot beat an nba caliber player off the dribble.....saying he's gotten better is like saying marcus stone got better from the first half of a game to the second half. maybe so, but it still wasnt pretty.

he'll still have to run off screens, and nba teams do a much better job of switching than most college teams, but he'll get his shots if a team is devoted to getting them for him. i dont see why a team would be though unless they needed a 3.

situational player at best, but he'll get PT in the nba.

i dunno about that. what if he goes to a team with someone like garnett. will teams double off him in the nba? i really dont think he will be in nba teams gameplan like he is now. i dont think teams will waste their best defender on him either so he will likely be guarded by guys not much better than what he faces now (the best defender on every college team)

i think hes gonna go to a team like the knicks or magic and fire up alot of bad shots and do really bad unless/until he gets onto a team with a dominant player. he would really be a nice complement to a team like the rockets where he could just stand in the corner while tmac and yao pick n roll.
