ya I noticed that as well...

well he is probably still pretty bitter that he never got much PT at Carolina... I can't really fault him being frustrated... maybe there was something else at play.

yeah like his inability to run inside or to hang on to the ball. i think basically what happened were two stubborn minds who refused to budge on their ideas (bunting and parker). cowher obviously had more of a psychological influence because he has more experience and is a better coach.

parker either improved his instincts drastically or offensive line and playcalling is everything in pro football

its possible, but he also had jacque lewis who was basically the same type of elusive back and he was first on the depth chart. if you watched any unc games, you would see that parker was typically ineffective. even plays designed for his strengths (bouncing outside and outrunning people) more often than not ended in a fumble. i'm not completely exonerating bunting, because he hasn't proven he's a top flight coach, but we were close to the top of the league in rushing while willie was here, so its not like we were sucking in the run game while willie festered on the bench.

oh, and willie borrowed a pen from me in sport psychology my freshman year

All the "was good/bad at UNC" regarding Parker is a debate, and I can see both sides of the story. However, it's a fact that Bunting BENCHED him on Senior day, not a single snap, nada. I'm sure now that Willie was responsbile for the longest run in Super Bowl history (I believe this was stated by Michaels), opposing ACC coaches on the recruiting trial will use it against Bunting that he couldn't develop Parker. Parker may have not been good at UNC, but It's now proven that he is A) coachable, and B) a solid back C) obviously miffed at Bunting/UNC and D) getting the last laugh and the big bucks...
