I feel like I've hit a workout hump and trying to get a boost to get over it, my workout plan is mainly for dropping pounds moreso for more definition, so what are some good metabolism boosters that wont make my heart explode
also, what vitamins do people take? I do my best to get everything from natural food, but I'll be damned if i do it all the time
thx in advance 2/6/2006 9:44:29 AM |

I'm not big on metabolism boosters.
If you're not taking protein, then see the other 100 million threads on protein and get some advice from that.
And I think GNC's Mega Man is one of the best multi-vitamins out there. 2/6/2006 9:49:08 AM |

protein promotes fat loss
no reason not to take it

^^ Yeah and protein helps you recover from workouts faster
so you feel less sore the next day
Also be sure you are not overtraining, aka your muscles are eating themselves, this will only decrease your chances of reaching your goals and make injury possible 2/6/2006 2:33:30 PM |

i never understand the reasoning behind people saying i dont want to take protein for this and that reason, your training will ultimately dictate your growth or lack there of, if you take protein that is rich in an amino acid profile then you are good to go 2/6/2006 2:34:17 PM |

true i love some grilled chicken but you miss many amino acids and vitamins in red meats that chicken doesnt have, the 2 biggest ones being L-Carnitine and iron, there are others also
it is pretty easy to look up the bcaa and what they do and what foods they are in
but mega man is one of the best daily vits out there followed by centrum something, there is one for active people, maybe it is centrum silver or something
thing with protein shakes is you can get ones that have good AA profiles, however i have found that to be relatively cheap with the protein powder you will still have to supplement some AA on the side to make them complete i use "ISS research whey powder"
it is a bit of work and prolly more so then what you want to bother with but i am not up on the whole fat burning realm of supplements other then eating clean carbs and high protein 2/6/2006 3:10:02 PM |
