The most extensive one in the triangle is Grand Asia Market at South Hills Mall in Cary, off of Buck Jones Rd, near the Crossroads exit on US-1. I don't know what "nori" is though.

There's one in Garner. I think it's called AC Moore. It's HUGE. 2/6/2006 11:25:33 PM |

None of the asian supermarket here compares to the ones in atlanta. They're bigger than the regular US grocery stores there. 2/6/2006 11:27:38 PM |

Grand Asia might have it, they're pretty big.
There is one off like exit 298 a or B somewhere, cant recall more though, sorry.
AC Moore is NOT an asian market, it's an art and craft store btw. 2/7/2006 5:53:57 PM |

it's called A&C Supermarket stupid
A&C got more ramen noodles than Grand Asia and the food court is better
if you like tofu, Grand Asia makes fresh tofu (hard tofu, tofu pudding - very soft tofu with syrup and peanuts and REAL soymilk)
but they only take cash though (taxes) 2/8/2006 10:57:29 AM |

i love the one off s. saunders, a&c supermarket. they have a lot more appliances, dishes, and other cheap household stuff (like multiply function pots, hehe). it's a much bigger store, but they have more stuff and less variety than grand asia market. a&c has a ton of snack type foods like those koalas, pocky, stuff like that.

Yeah, Grand Asia is good stuff. Take 440->US-1 (going up Hillsborough St. away from NCSU, take the second ramp), then keep going until there's the sign for I-40. You'll want to take the exit after you can see Grand Asia from the highway.

There's a Japanese grocer if you head west on Western until it turns into Chatham Street. 748 E.Chatham St. Some of the items are pricier 'cause the Yen is still pretty strong against the dollar... falling fast though. Probably best value is at the Korean grocer or Grand Asia. 2/8/2006 9:26:55 PM |

Buy nori from the nice Japanese ladies who run Toyo Shokuhin (sp?) it is straight down Hillsboro St. past the fairgrounds a way. If you go in and buy anything, even just a soda, on the weekend the lady always gives out free sushi and mochi- every weekend. This is homemade stuff that she makes there early every Sat, Sun. morning and they give it out free to every customer. But go early sometimes they run out by the PM. Also great selection of Japanese drama and tv shows-all in japanese though 2/9/2006 12:51:01 AM |
