I finally went to the clinic a month back and broke out of my WoW addiction. After taking some time away from gaming, I'm starting to desire something new to waste some time on.

But where the fuck have all the good games gone?? Has nothing good come out in the last 4 or 5 months? I got Civ 4, out of sheer respect of the game's history, and yeah.. i like it.. but I need something with a little more umph.

What the hell are people playing these days? Cause to me, it looks like the gaming industry has been laying back jacking off their collective cocks.

If you are into console games, try and hold out until April when The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess is going to be released. I have been waiting for that game for years.

If you are into computer games, try out Battlefield 2. It came out last summer. There is a huge thread in Tech Talk about it, as well as some links to a really good demo that gives you an idea of what the gameplay is like.

elder scrolls 4: Oblivion is supposed to be out early 2006 if you like that style of game. I enjoyed the TES series because it feels like one of those immersive multiplayer RPG's in how freeform everything is but you can put it down for a while and come back later without worring about keeping up with other players and stuff.

If Square would just remake Chrono Trigger with updated graphics, tweak the story and the gameplay just a tad (it's perfect, IMO, but they can make battles easier, harder...that type of thing), add a few extras that would make it kind of fresh (an extra timeline/character to get a few more hours of gameplay) and the game would sell as high, if not higher than FF7.

I know they see the money in it. I can't figure out why they haven't done it yet.

Oh yeah, if they did the same thing with FF3, they'd be making $Texas

I wish companies would take a look back at the games that the public absolutely loved, and then try to remake them with better graphics.

Remember X-Com? I know there have been a few releases/spinoffs of that game, but if they just took the core game and gave it a facelift for today's level of tech. Oooo... that game would be sweet.

It's good to hear Westwood is releasing a 10 year pack of C&C. I miss playing that shit. Wonder if they're gonna touch up any of the graphics....

mega man was another good one.. but they lost me past MM3. Wish Nintendo would port Zelda to PS and XB. They'd make hella money off game sales. Metroid as well.

I mean, who WOULDN'T go out and get the Zelda and Metroid titles if they were ported out?

How bout a better Master's of Orion? I haven't seen anything good come of that series in a long time, but it was hella fun.

I really dug Alpha Centuri, wish they'd make a remake or sequal.

Played tons of SimCity back in the day, but the current lacks a certain something that hasn't been around since SimCity 2000.

Why did nothing good ever come out of the MechWarrior line? I feel like there was so much room for improvement, and that they coulda done sweet things.

Not a fan of the FPS, but I'll look into BF2. If the demo is hot, then I'll check it out.

Because there's no way it would outsell FFVII. Not saying FFVII is a better game, but you're SERIOUSLY overestimating the selling ability of those two games.
