Trunzo is teaching 331, and Pittman is teaching 332. Both teachers have outstanding reviews in school tool. Both are classes I want (and really should) take.
Quote : | "Written communication in industrial and technical organizations, emphasizing internal communication with managers and technical personnel and including external communication with regulators, vendors, and clients. Intensive practice in writing; relationship of writing to oral and visual communication. For students in engineering and other primarily technological curricula." |
is the description of 331.

332. i'm in supply chain mgmt in textiles. I'll be taking this distance ed in summer I. IMO, each class seems like it'd be equally wonderful (considering its a writing class and all ) while it might end up coming down to which class isn't full, i'd still like to hear what some of yall have to say about either course 2/8/2006 1:48:13 PM |

based soley on those description i'd go for 332... i find the words communication/business/management to sound more friendly and inviting than a description that has the word industrial/3 words that start with "tech." Technical sounds hard.
Also it says 331 is for engineers... engineering never seems to be done for fun, its done for money. Who honestly spends their time thinking how great and fun physics and the like are? Given the option I'd go for 332 which sounds like it'll be slightly more fun. 2/8/2006 2:01:29 PM |

the only reason i'm considering 331 is precisely b/c it DOES sound fun
to me, it sounds more fun than 332...i just know that 332 is somewhat more suited to my field of study 2/8/2006 2:03:03 PM |

For me 332 sounded like more fun. But making fun/interestingness as the judging criteria, it sounds like you should go for 331. The classes don't sound honestly that different to the point that you wouldn't be able to applied what you learned from 331 to your field. I know I tend to get more out of classes I enjoy. 2/8/2006 2:16:06 PM |

I took 331 with Trunzo. It was way easy and she was nice. You read a couple of "engineer" type articles (some background about the Challenger explosion is all I can remember right now), write a resume and cover letter and write some other little discussion posts. I enjoyed it because the writing was short and to the point. You do have 1 project with a group doing a paper and presentation and that also was easy. I say take this if it's open, I don't think you'd regret it.
I had Pittman for ENG 101 and hated her. (Maybe you would have a better experience not having to meet with her in person.) She lacks focus and just makes stuff up as she goes. She gave us a final grade without giving us back half of our work so that seemed kind of shady. She also favors students which is shitty, but I'm sure wouldn't happen in an online class (unless past students are in there). 2/8/2006 2:28:55 PM |

I had Pittman last summer for ENG 332.
It was a real easy class and had a minimal work load. Basically there was a powerpoint assignment, a group activity, resume/cover sheet assignment, and a final paper. Provided you did your work, easy A.
She also seemed pretty nice a teacher as well. 2/8/2006 3:14:13 PM |

well from my experience, my fiance is and engineering major and is taking 331 online and has a shitload of work. I am taking 332 online and have minimal work. I have it with Huyck. The website is a little hard to navigate, but other than that it doesnt seem so bad. 2/8/2006 3:36:43 PM |

I took 331 with trunzo last summer as well. class was really easy, couple discussion postings a few times a week (takes like 5 minutes), a resume, a memo, and a group project that is at tops an hour and a half of work (per person). my friends in 332, and his assignments seem alot more time consuming, and just as boring. 2/8/2006 6:27:04 PM |

i also had trunzo for 331 last summer. i got an A, but i can't really remember doing anything at all. the discussion postings were annoying, but easy. you just feigned an interest and what the other people were saying, and it all was okay. there was a big paper at the end, but since it was divided up amongst us in a group, you only had to write a single page -- more or less. in short, i recommend 331 w/ trunzo over the summer. 2/8/2006 6:37:11 PM |
