...ly?

it's really interesting to see because they don't have an infrastructure that would support something like this (like a pope who gives a command and bishops, etc. take it to all the countries around the world and implement it).

how can they work so efficiently and quickly when it comes to something like this?

(serious question - not flaming or joking. not many other groups have this sort of efficiency, if you can call it that.)

banded together in a coordinated way
vs
similar reactions to seeing something in media outlets which many have access to/seeing how others are reacting through media outlets and following that example

It's called governments coercing the populous to react. In many of these countries with less than "islamic" governments, the current government is under attack from fundamentalist opposition. So the government in order to appear awesomely muslim start to instigate these protests. And it wasn't that quick. The cartoons originally appear back in September and the protests only started after the HAMAS victory which is a sign that secular governments are scared and coercing the population into protests.

if they were scared, that would imply that their populations would readily protest without need for coercion.

your rhetoric is starting to get tangled up in itself.

no. These governments are notorious for cracking down on ever protest. So why all of the sudden is there a protest taking place in these countries that have track records for bruttal supression? One answer, government involvement.

Yes Jason, you're right.

However you'll find the Excrement doesn't really understand 'logic' or have any 'deductive reasoning'.

but at least i understand the difference between governments coercing a population into protest and governments allowing a population to protest

i'm not saying the governments aren't involved. just that the way nutsmackr phrased his post is contradictory. if governments were scared of islamic power, they would possibly allow muslim protests as a gesture of "hey look we're on your side".... they certainly wouldn't need or want to coerce them into asserting muslim power.

If this is correct, is it that governments are simply inactively permitting it (as opposed to suppressing like usual), or is it that they are actively promoting it?

wow even dictionary is backing me up on this one

coercion

n 1: the act of compelling by force of authority 2: using force to cause something; "though pressed into rugby protests under compulsion I began to enjoy the game islam"; "they didn`t have to use coercion"

It is interesting to note, that Egypt printed these cartoons shortly after they were printed in the Netherlands and no one protested.

well they haven't been planning a mass hysteria since the cartoons came out so even though the cartoons are old, it doesn't invalidate this point.

it's happened over the past few days/weeks

^^I still stand by my statement. I just refuse to argue with trolls. Also, why is it that you assume I should be online 24hrs a day to argue with you Matthew?
