If you want HID, you need a drop in kit for the lights. If you have standard reflectors as your lights, then you will blind a lot of people with glare.
You need to have projector lenses, and a few other things in order to properly run HIDs

Also, why in the hell do you want blue headlights?

I've seen models of my car with those lites and like them, and i know goin through the dealorship it will cost me over a G, but im willing spend about 400, I know phillips makes some good kits but i mean i just want to be able to go an aftermarket shop and spend some $ on some lites that look like the new Xenon lites they are putting on higher end cars.....any help where I can find a store that sells these?

you cant just go buy bulbs that come anywhere close to what you are wanting. HID conversion kits would be what you are looking for, BUT

your lexus has all the lighting power you need. blue light does not mean brighter light.

You can't just buy a bulb and get HID lighting, typical ricer mistake

You need a full HID conversion kit, bulbs and ballasts......if what you're putting in doesn't include ballasts you're not getting a HID conversion, you're just getting blue tinted bulbs

FYI: when i converted to HID on my M3 i had to buy new front light assembly w/ projector lenses, 2 ballasts, bulbs, plug-n-play wiring harness (with wasn't really plug-n-play). cost was over $1200. if you are going to do it do it right.

Yall are retarded. If you want HID don't get the cheap knock off crap....what you need to do is go on ebay and find like s2000 ballasts/projectors HID stuff and do a retrofit. Buying a blue bulb IS NOT HID and it will just give you a blue tint on your lights which will blind other drivers if it's in your stock housing. Also, dont buy one of the expensive kits...they use a bunch of your stock parts and look like shit a lot of times. Retrofitting is the way to go - and much cheaper than a kit. A retrofit would cost 300-400$

Me and my bro just recently retrofitted some audi/lexus HIDs into his 240sx.

I got a used hi/lo real HID kit for $400 for my vette. I guess you just need to look around and get lucky... if you only care about one set of beams being HID it should be pretty do-able for $400.

your classifieds responses are about the same quality - realize that 500 might not be enough and that sometimes you won't get spoonfed in life

you can get a no-name ballast and a bulb for about 100 bucks a corner. you'll still need a projector housing.

you'll be aight without the housing...i mean, you might blind the fuck out of some people but really it won't matter much to you

i thought that the 99 was the new body style where they just used reflectors.

if so, that means he would be able to get the HID housings that used reflectors and they would be MUCH cheaper than the projector shit.

of course the assorted hardware would be $.

find a junked car and buy the HID's off them.

[Edited on February 15, 2006 at 2:10 AM. Reason : then it would just be plug and play. nothing complicated.]

not sure what bulbs a gs300 has but i have a kit that i used on my accord (6006) that I will sell for $300. It has a relay that will work fine as long as u have 6006 harness. if u aim the lights right u shouldnt have to worry about blinding other drivers
