it was pretty interesting to see both sides... it did kind of seem like the "real" black guy was seeing racism where it didn't exist.. like passing the people on the street.

I guess it'll take time to differentiate the little things that come up.

the white woman has no idea how to talk deal with the issue though, even though she claims to be from a "liberal" background.. she's so intent on trying to accept the differences, she just emphasizes them more. That's gonna be fun to watch

i just watched my DVR of it today. i thought it was really good. im really impressed w/ the young white girl.. she's only 16 and is showing a metric crap ton of wisdom and courage.

the problem with the mom is that she really does have good intentions, she's just completely clueless about how to approach people.

I just watched the second episode... it was pretty hilarious I thought.

^I agree with that assessment too. There really are a lot of white people who don't have bad intentions, but for whatever reason, they are completely tactless when dealing with black people, and it seems to be mostly because they expect them to be vastly different (to expect that it's common for blacks to wear dashikis shows that well).

yeh that mom is something else all right. i think the white parents think that because theyre in the experiment and wear black make up they have the right to use the Nbomb and wear rashikis and go nuts at church, etc. i think they have good intentions, but theyre not being sensitive or tactful enough. they dont seem to understand that theyre actually not black and there are still some boundaries

on the other hand the black parents do seem a little eager to jump on everything they can w/ the white parents. black mom was going a little nuts w/ the bitch thing i think. they should have known going into this both sides would be ignorant/naive and they would need to tolerate/work it out together.

i hope white mom didnt ruin Rose's poetry group thing.. i was happy to see how that was turning out and how receptive they were of her when she came out.

There might've been hidden cameras for the church/bar, but at poetry class I'm pretty sure there was a crew there. When Rose confessed, one of the kids says something about "other people who watch this." They probably thought it was some reality show or documentary. And even if they suspected funny business, probably the last guess would've been that the new girl is actually white.

on another more interesting note, the white family seems to have been believeably made over into black people.
But the black folks makeup just doesn't look right to me. They look like the Puttermans from those old duracell commercials. I'd treat them better just because i dont want to be fucking assimlated or kidnapped and have my body used as a living hair-farm or something

Actually, I think it's just the kids on both sides that made the transition very well. I think they both look believable, but the parents on the other hand look awful. Maybe they just shouldn't have picked wierd looking people to start out with.
