they score more goals than anyone else... they wont need defense

talent-wise, england looks really good...except they have no proven GK

There are teams that can put a lockdown on the Brazilian style of play and will only need two goals to win. Dida can't bail them out all the time.

Paul Robinson is good to go.

i dont know what to expect from the americans this time around. There is no reason we shouldnt be a legitiment final four team, however our group is vicsous and i never know what team is going to show up. we could be anything from a semifinalist to ousted in the first round

i dont know anything about soccer but i watch it all the time the last two years on the fox soccer channel. I watch mostly the Barclay Priemership. So someone in the know -how good will the US be this world cup? What about Japan?

states show promise (although that slaughter with germany wasn't fun to watch.)

japan really needs to beat croatia to get out of the first rounds. Brazil obviously will take the first spot, and i doubt australia will be able to make it into the 2nd position.

It was crazy to see the looks on all the fans faces yesterday. They knew that their World Cup chances just went out the window. Terry and Lampard had the same look.

Yeah, but Owen got looked at yesterday and should be good to go by the start of the tournament. Rooney is definitely out for 2/3rds of the group stage at the very least.

^ Yes. Up til the start of 2005 he was "retired" from international play. The TTFF called him out of international retirement, and it's worked out for him as he will get to play in the World Cup for the first time.

bruce is supposed to come out with the roster tomorrow, and the US is in trouble if they make it out of the group behind italy, or anyone else, because that means brazil second round. and who needs defense when you have ronaldinho, ronaldo, adriano, robinho, juninho, and kaka. that being said, im going with holland.

I was sitting directly behind Meola for that goal. Granted, the defense fell asleep, but he came out at slowly and at some stupid-wrong angle.

Friedel is still playing for Blackburn but has retired from international play.

yeah i was behind the goal also. and thats too bad, friedel was solid. but i think hahnemann is gonna be good in the future. hes pretty good at reading. just bad luck for howard that man u picked up van der sar.

well unfortuntaely hahnemann is like 33 or 34, so he doesnt have much of a future left

tim howard is the immediate future for gk...but we always have a good gk for the US, i never stress that position, just need good strikers to come up, i dont know why we cant raise a lethal finisher from the U.S.
