^Exactly! He has a piss poor attitude. He started the aggressive driving rule, and he turns around and does it to himself!

AGGRESSIVE DRIVING CHARGE ON TONY STEWART!!

Oh yeah, about 30 laps into the race, he wouldn't give Gordon 1/4 inch of room to cut in, so they both hit the wall. Gordon said that it was 50/50 his fault and Stewart's fault, and Stewart said no, 100% Gordon's fault.

that whole aggressive driving rule is going to make nascar look like idiots.

case in point: making Danny Hamlin go to the back of the line yesterday in the Busch race for something he couldn't avoid

^hell yeah it's gordon's fault. giving him a 1/4" would have meant getting off the gas and going to the back

He would have been right behind gordan near the front instead he causes them both to hit the fall and go to the back.

^^^^the way I see it is that gordon moved up too soon. his spotter should have told him he wasn't clear. granted now stewart wishs he would have backed off but how the heck is he supposed to know that gordon is going to move up before he should have

I'm not a stewart fan btw. but who knows what would have happened if he had backed off. he could have stacked the field up behind him and caused a bigger accident

I won't consider that a win for Jimmy Johnson until he passes post race inspection. that team has cheated more in past few years and most of the other teams combined

Knaus Ejected from 2006 Daytona 500 Activities UPDATE 2 Hendrick Responds: NASCAR announced today that NASCAR Nextel Cup Series crew chief Chad Knaus has been ejected from any further participation in 2006 Daytona 500 activities as a result of a rules infraction discovered following pole qualifying runs Sunday. Knaus is the crew chief for the #48 Lowe's Chevy driven by Jimmie Johnson. NASCAR said the #48 car failed post-qualifying template inspection in the rear window area [had a device installed that raised the rear window after pre-aualifying inspection]. The qualifying time posted by the #48 was disallowed and Johnson will have to start at the rear of the field in the first of two 150-mile qualifying races Thursday. The qualifying time of the #96 DLP Chevy driven by Terry Labonte was also disallowed. NASCAR officials said an unapproved carburetor was found on the 96 car. Labonte will also have to start from the rear of the field in Thursday’s qualifying races. Additional penalties for both cars will be determined following the Daytona 500.(NASCAR PR)(2-13-2006)

^ Yeah exactly, how do you miss that...they only talked about it every 5 minutes.

I can probably count on 1 hand the number of times someone has been DQed from a race after failing post-race inspection in the past 15 years. There was a Busch series race a long time ago where the winner was DQed and everyone was up in arms about it because drivers usually received fines and points deductions rather than being DQed. I cant recall someone being DQed after a race since.

Youd think they would at least put some freaking wipes (similar to whats on the roof cameras) on the unmanned cameras by the walls. I got so tired of seeing them go to those cameras when it was nothing but a blur.

Remember him fucking up Gordon on the 11th lap of a race late last season? Were was that?

BTW... if you're not cheating, you're not trying.

I just find it odd that when Stewart, Harvick, and I believe McMurray had cars that had significant issues with them, the car would be confiscated. For some reason, Golden Boy's car does not get confiscated.

Here's what Ryan Newman had to say.

http://www.signonsandiego.com/sports/20060220-9999-1s20daynotes.html

Quote :
"Newman has words for Johnson

By Bill Center
UNION-TRIBUNE STAFF WRITER
February 20, 2006

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Not everyone was willing to forgive the winning Daytona 500 team for its indiscretions earlier in the week.

“You know, it's just disappointing,” said driver Ryan Newman, the likely winner had it not been for Jimmie Johnson.

“I mean, I think a lot of Jimmie and his talent and stuff. But I'm pretty sure at least three of his last four, if not three out of his last three, wins have had conflicts with the cars being illegal.

“You know, that's not necessarily good for the sport.”

Pressed further about the suspension of Johnson's crew chief, Chad Knaus, Newman said he thought stronger penalties should be considered.

“Some drivers know what's going on with the car as far as what the crew chief's initiatives are,” said Newman. “Some drivers don't have a clue. But I think the point should be driven home that if we have repeat offenders or if the situation happens time and time again with a certain individual, there's something that should be done other than suspension.

“I think that's important to the sport.”

Newman also fired a broadside at Johnson.

“The Lowe's team did a good job of putting Jimmie in position to win the race,” Newman said. “Everything else aside, Jimmie did drive a smart and somewhat overaggressive race.”

Johnson said he views Newman's comments as “jealousy.”

“This team worked way too hard to have these kinds of comments thrown at them and I'm going to be very defensive over it,” Johnson said. “I'm disappointed that Ryan has to come in here and make some statements and try to tarnish what we accomplished today.

“We've worked very hard for what we got.”"
