Hello All!

I hate how stagnant NeedForReed.com has become other than the occasional show or interview update. I want the site to become at least a weekly stop for those making their internet rounds.

What I plan to do is feature an article each week that pertains in some fashion to music, the local community, or a spotlight on a particular individual.

I have an idea for the first article that will be posted on Sunday February 25th. What I am asking for are some suggestions that I can research and possible feature in the future.

the name of your site is stupid. Change it and draw more traffic.

It's also a lame layout. Nobody wants to visit a page that is all dark and morgue-ish. Maybe take some design classes and get your webpage looking good. Your home page screams "LEAVE NOW OR BE BORED TO DEATH". You have to fix that. It didn't get much more than about 5 seconds from me the first time I went there.

How to make your site better

1) Make a side menu. Navigation = teh crap on your site
2) Eye candy. People like seeing graphics when they come somewhere. Something that is only you. Icon, background... you know something. Plain colors aren't in right now.
3) Allow for people to submit news ot things to you. That way they can have an effect on the site too.

i like it. it's simple and navigation is easy. maybe some pictures would be nice, but at least it's easy to read and not super cluttered, like some other sites.

Just wanted to address some things.

1) I realize the layout of NFR.com is not impressive. It was designed to be simple and straight forward, based solely on content. It is something I can maintain in my free time for fun. The site doesn't receive many updates because there just isn't anything to update on it. The implementation of a weekly article is so the site can become a resource for people.

2) I don't intend to change the name of my site. Obviously the name isn't that practical, but all I really want out of the site is a place for people to find out about shows I'm doing, or read interviews/articles I've written.

3) I can list NC Punk as a link because I grew up with Jae Thomas, the webmaster of NC Punk. The rest of the links are friends.

I didn't mean for the article to come off as patronizing. Could you tell me how you found it patronizing?

I am just trying to do something positive with my time that I hope people might enjoy reading.

As far as the label goes, that is just a dream I am trying to follow and maybe one day it will turn into something.

I like the idea it is just that I lack the design/code skills to really implement any large scale ideas to my site.

At the same time, there's nothing in there that I haven't read in twenty other articles. I'd rather see something that reflects your personal experiences and travails.

I felt the effort was rushed but I wanted something up by Sunday night. It was a first effort, and hopefully they will improve from here on.
