I'm glad that high-pitched, whiny voiced, racist nigger is quitting and I wish it was this year.

Oh yeah...he is..without question. You can bring up steroids all you want but 1) they dont help hand -eye coordination..2) he was slapping shit out of the park before he got as he would say "fat'

I love to watch him play, and I always have...I would be the exact same way in regards to the media if I was famous.

I think it would be cool to actually watch someone break one of the best records in the history of baseball. I don't see anyone else in the near future reaching as many as he has. And if he is physically able to comeback and chase that record, he'd be insane not to. No one wants to be remembered as the person who hit the 3rd most HR's ever, second may be ok because he'll pass a baseball legend in Babe Ruth, but you have to consider if he hits a mediocre(for him) ~25 HR's a season, he can catch him in 2, if he hits 40 in one then he could catch him in a year and a half. And if he repeats one of his monster years, he can catch him this year.

But I think due to his health and irritation with the media(I think the Media wants him to fall short and retire because of the record and because of the steroid scandal) that he won't play more than 2 more seasons if even the full 1 year.

I hope he comes back and hits 80 HRs this year

then he laughs and calls everybody player-haters at the news conferences

but then again

I'm probably the only bonds supporter on this board

I hope

when he hits the ball to pass Ruth, after he knows the ball is gone

he pulls out a huge picture of Babe out of his back pocket...

lights it on fire

puts it on home plate

rounds the bases

and stomps on it when he scores

i hope he stops on 2nd base and injects himself with enough roids so that he can still have the energy to make it to homeplate

Albert Pujols

A-rod

I'll say FUCK BONDS and take my hances on seeing one of these two break that record. Both are more classy, even though A-rod is a douche. Pujols would be the perfect guy to do it though. He's a great player and will NEVER have a problem with the fans.

I mean obviously Bonds is 10x the player that Babe Ruth was...

but if you compare how they dominated their respective eras, you'd have to go with Ruth...

Ruth was hitting HR's before anyone else in the league was, period.

And I hope Bonds comes back b/c I enjoy watching his at-bats.

The ONLY reason that Pujols will never have a problem is because he'll never play in a major market. ARod is just as good a guy but he plays for the most hated franchise in sports in a city that eats, sleeps, and breathes baseball. I guarantee that Pujols would face some criticism if he ever played on that stage as well.

Babe Ruth also pitched...and i realize bonds has won a lot of gold gloves but pitching is more important than left field

I grew up a Pirates fan because of Bobby Bonilla and Barry Bonds...

I certainly havent forgotten his years with the Pirates.... ive been a fan of a shitty baseball team since 1988 BECAUSE of Barry...

*shout out to Andy Van Slyke too... couldnt leave him hanging like that

yeah well Al Leiter is supposedly a nice guy.

Doesnt mean I appreciated him putting up a 10.00 ERA for the Marlins this year.

I care about production, not how nice they are to sportswriters...

In sports i want the dick, not the pussy.

Let’s see who I would rather have as the home-run record "King"

Barry: A guy who many times publicly ridiculed the fans, abused sportswriters and camera men, and was an all around dick; that took steroids to set records and publicly lied about it.....

OR

Hank: A guy who was ridiculed by the fans, abused by the sportswriters, and was dicked around for beating the record, which he did with death threats and without cheating.......hmm....that’s a hard one rally.........what to do?

how about the guy who is the better HR hitter?

which is either Babe or Bonds... certainly not Aaron.

Dude, Babe did it after piching an entire game and being hungover.

Bonds couldn't hold the Babe's jock

I will not disagree with skill.....Barry is a better homerun hitter........even based off of the pre-steroid phase.....32 a year for hank, and 44 for Ruth....I'd go for Ruth in overall....but when did he play? How do you compare then to now, sure I could say that the league now has way to many teams and the talent is too spread out, but, I could say that half the talent when Ruth played was in another league.........doesn't matter, Barry cheated....was a dick, and is a bad representative for the greatest record in all of sports.......I would go with hank because of will power, determination, and consistency........

^^

yeah, but lets be honest.

Babe Ruth coudlnt even touch a starting lineup in todays league.

He might make a decent college player or something.... but he'd get less at bats than Bubba Trammell.

50% of Babes value was his ability to draw walks. People would be walking Jeromy freaking Burnitz just to face Babe Ruth in todays MLB.

Yep, walks are a good thing.

That just adds to Barrys value.
