I think i'm going to get out of the hobby for a while as I will have a lot of other projects I need to be working on coming up.

I have a 54G corner Hex tank on a black stand with birch plywood hood. it has a 440W ARO 24" VHO retro kit for lighting with a timer, though the bulbs are over 6 months old and probably need to be replaced. The tank is plumbed into a 15G tall aquarium in the bottom using a home made acrylic siphon overflow. The return pump is a MAG12, which is piped to two linelock nozzels so you can point the return wherever you want it. The return is pretty strong, but there are also 4 more places you can put line lock to decrease the pressure out of each nozzel (i have all the fittings and pieces to do this also). my skimmer is home made, counter current, using home made air stones. it's currently not producing simmate, I think the air stones need to be replaced. it worked well when i first built it.

I started this tank back in april or may. I had to move it in July. it's been set up there ever since, so about 7+ months it's been running. The coraline is thriving, the corals look great, however there is a small algae problem, but not a huge deal.

Here's a list of all the equipment and livestock. The way I figured my price is to list what I paid for something (all the home made stuff I listed CHEAP too, and all the rock and sand I listed at 1.50/lb), added it all up and took less than 65% of that value.

I've also got a 100GPD RO/DI unit, various test kits, a net, glass scraper and mag float, various plumbing and tubing. buckets, water containers, rubbermaid tubs. way too much to list, but anything aquarium related goes.

You are responsible for moving this tank. I'll help you break it down and load it, but then you are on your own. I'm also not responsible for die off. I'd suggest doing several large waterchanges (15G) over the next several weeks after moving the tank.

just a tip, your substrate looks too deep... it shouldn't go higher than 4"

the sand bed is 4 inches average. currents raise and lower it in different spots. there is a 1" plenum under the sand which makes it look extra tall

regardless, the corals and fish are thriving, other than the ones that died due to stress in the move.

I need test kits and all the corrective stuffs. What do you have? I might clean you out. I just ordered a kick ass test kit and hydrometer from amazon for $30, but might be able to return that stuff if you have it for less.

Doesn't that depend on what you have? I know some species NEED a thick layer of sand, especially the horseshoe crabs.

$120 for all the rock that does not have a coral attached
$120 for all the sand
$35 hippo tang
$25 watchman goby
$10 2 chromis
$20 Clown fish
$1/each for snails and hermits (i probably have a hundred of them)

$10 mushrooms (2)
$10 xenia
$30 hammerhead
$30 zooanthids (all, there are lots)
$30 ricordias (3 all on one rock)

if all this gets taken, then i'll consider parting out the drygoods

this is not a question of wether i set up my tank according to any certain rules or not. it's a sale. if you really care, i was going more or less from the garf method, found at http://www.garf.org

you'll probably rip on that too, but it doesn't matter. fish are happy and corals are growing and that's all that matters.

RO/DI is one of the things i would keep since i will use it later when i get back in the hobby

i'd probably sell it for $100 with all the plumbing parts you need to hook it into a sink with it's own cut off valve.

it is a 100GPD 6 stage with clear housings from soumiknight on ebay.

i can't sell any drygoods, pumps, filters, or powerheads till the livestock is sold.

things i might keep if i sell off the livestock are the mag 12, air pump, the vho light kit, and probably the power heads.
