Same shit, different year. No rebounding. No inside game. No adjustments (At least Billy Packer, of all douchebags, realizes we should have taken it straight at Hansbrough in the 2nd half). This team is going nowhere without rebounding and an inside game. We can't rebound with everyone standing around the 3 point line, and we can't have an inside game if we're not willing to look for it.


Flame away at me all of you.... I could give a damn. Im not flaming, i'm stating the obvious. Good coaches can beat us. You guard the perimeter and dare us to put the ball on the floor, and we fold like a deck of cards. We always have.

There is no justifying this. Absolutely pathetic. Offense, defense... fucking special teams even sucked.

I've tried to view the positives in things... tried to be nice. This just takes the cake. Not only did we lose, but we didn't show up... got embarrased, outcoached, and outran by a bunch of freshmen.


Fuck being nice. We're going nowhere unless we can learn to rebound and go inside. I'm sick of this shit... every year it's this way, and it will be our demise in the NCAA's. We might get lucky and put together a streak of games shooting 50% from 3 point land, but we're anything from a consistently good and well-balanced team.

I equate Herb to Dave Odom. Thanks for making us respectable, but that's all we'll be with your system. I just don't think he'll ever get over "the hump". The same things keep plagueing us every year... no change. That's not talent, that's the way our team is constructed.

^^We don't suck.... but when a good coach is up against us, they push our buttons and make us look stupid.

We have too many flaws...and its the same flaws. We can easily be dismantled. Easily. Roy and K just showed you how. Some coaches just can't figure it out.... those two can, and they have the athletes to implement it

i would say there are 5 or 6 really, really, really good coaches out there, all of whom are set where they are now and will be forever. herb still is young and has shown improvement year in and year out. its his first year with a real big man in the middle and even though herb has been here for 11 years now, i still would say he is learning more and more each year. i think its absolutely rediculous for anyone to be calling for his head. hell, look at whats going on 2 hrs. down the road in winston-salem, be glad we arent deacons fans

I wouldn't mind if our problems were taking care of themselves. I've bitched about him for years. Check out last years threads... I guarandamntee you they'll say

1) We can't rebound
2) We rely too much on the 3 and have no inside game
3) We're too unathletic and get ran over by more athletic teams

Hell, check the 1998 threads and I'm sure they'll say the same thing. It never changes.

I'm not bitching because I'm delusional about "OMF NC STATE SHOULD WIN CHAMPIONSHIPS EVERY YEAR!". I just realize when you've hit a brick wall... we have. Yada Yada "were ranked" blah blah...we can't rebound, and all we do is shoot 3's. Same shit, different year.

Again, Herb = Dave Odom. Super guy, thanks for what you've done, but you've taken us as far as possible, IMO.

Our recurring flaws are too much to deal with. If you cant rebound and go inside when shots are falling, you're fucked. We got ran off teh court tonight. Roy knew if he loaded the 3 point line we were fucked. So did K. We never attempted to switch our gameplan...we just ran around like chickens with our heads cut off

i just think that progress is being shown in recruiting year in and year out. we have a dependable big man in ced and we just landed an absolute stud in chris wright for next years class, i think we are slowly phasing out as a "nothing but 3 point shooting" team because in years past that was our only opportunity to win. i would say the greatest evidence of this is our game in cameron last month, we didnt have to rely on the 3 to keep the game close

i can see where your coming from PackBacker and I know you've stayed consistant on your views of herb and that you are the furthest thing from a bandwagoner, either the good bandwagon or the bad one

i still see great things in the future for this program with herb as our coach.
