I have officially changed my position on something. I firmly believe now that we need an NC State alumnus at the helm of the ACC. That is the ONLY way NC State is ever going to get a fair shake with officials/media/scheduling. John Swofford doesn't hide his bias when he only attends UNC games, and his ties to that god-forsaken place are so strong he probably helps Roy and Buntcake recruit. I want to find out all the dirt on that place possible, and then I'll write a tell-all book called "Intentional Fouls: Carolina's Dark Side Exposed".

Man I'm glad I missed the game. I knew something was up when I went to gopack this morning and saw swimming on the front page.

Actually, the way the media runs right now, I could probably use nothing but quotes and heresay and have it published. No facts needed in this day and age, just make wild accusations.

That score is decieving...it wasn't even that close. UNC put people from the crowd in at the end of the game and they still scored at will.

^^ Seriously... I called it pre-game too. I knew it was going to happen.

If you didn't see the game, think: Harlem Globetrotters vs. Washington Generals.

There you have it

Not blaming it on the refs. I blame rebounding and poor shot selection (an off night). I just want an evenly called ACC game at some point in the future.

I continue to see a HUGE foul differential in ALL UNC games, not just ours. They were in the double bonus before we even had 3 fouls on them...(I know it's exaggerated, but I'm really REALLY FRUSTRATED ).

refs sucked both ways, the just killed our momentum a little more it seemed like when they tried to even up the foul count.

The refs were a non-factor

You want something to blame it on?

-Blame it on the fact that we haven't rebounded for the past 10 years
-Blame it on the fact that all we do is that stupid weave and shoot up bullshit 3 pointers all game
-Blame it on the fact that even Billy Packer, of all people realized that the refs were calling the game so close we should have gone inside, and said "At what point is Sendek going to realize that he should go right at Hansbrough. The refs are calling such close fouls, you have Simmons, and you can get Hansbrough out of there". What do we do? Shoot more 3's...
- Blame it on the fact that we had our best team in our coaches entire tenure and we got ran off the court by a team comprised of mostly freshmen and glorified walk-ons.

Blaming it on the refs is a joke. Even hinting that the outcome would be somewhat different is a joke. At some point you're going to have to realize it starts at the top... and this is a recurring theme of getting outclassed and outcoached by an inferior team.

^^Yeah, I was pissed at a few calls, but if those few calls go our way, we still get beat by 20. We sucked.

^shut the fuck up about it already. Nobody said fire herb.

^^^Really. Best team in nearly 2 decades and I still feel like we are swirling the bottom of a toilet bowl.

^^You need to realize that many lifelong NCSU fans would still be upset if we were 25-2 if both losses were to UNC. It's almost like people want to dismiss the rivalry because we have a historic 1:8 W:L record (made up but probably worse FAIK) against them.

I'm senior and all my time at State I've believed in Herb, but there really is not excuse for the performance last night. Herb Sendek simply CANNOT motivate his players for big games. He's proved this time and time again.

However, you can't fire Herb when Chuck exists because Chuck's record at State is FAR LESS impressive than Herb's.

As much as I'd like to say "FIRE HERB!," I simply can't because of Chuck.

Basketball and football are two different things.

It takes a lot more to build a football team (44 players...that's 2 deep vs. 7-8 for Bball).

Also, considering NC State's history in basketball, we have the right to expect great things from it. We don't in football....we're a doormat. Always have been.

I'm in no way apologizing for Chuck, but with two national championship banners hanging from your rafters (Should be 3)... you have the right for lofty expectations

However, you must take in to account the condition of NC State basketball when Herb took over. He has improved the team tremendously. But he still can't win a big game, which is related to his inability to motivate players.

you shouldn't need motivation for the big games. that's what makes them the big games. none of our guys are going around sayin "eh, it's just carolina". herb has been more fiery on the sidelines this season than any other season he's been here. i hate unc too, and yes it sucks to lose to them, but be reasonable. i'm still happy with what herb is doing with this team. we're probably going to finish 2nd in the ACC, behind the 1st place team in the country.

^^That I can agree with.

Like I said last night. I'm not dissatisfied with what Herb's done.. he's done a great job bringing us back to respectability, I'm just more concerned with recurring flaws in his system (Rebounding, lack of fire, too many 3's).

I can't fault Herb for the job he's done.... I just don't think we're going anywhere further

The entire game our players were simply standing around watching on defense (countless passes more jams). We played with ZERO emotion.

You can't tell me that our players cared more about this game that any other game by the way they played. They simply DID NOT CARE! This lack of desire to beat our rival comes from the top, which is why we need an alumni (i.e. Archie Miller, Sidney Lowe, etc.) to coach our bball team.

Seriously... when was the last time we had a player with the fire of Burleson or Corchiani?

Hodge was a fiery player, but I don't think he was on the level of those two. They wouldn't let us lose.. and if we did, they'd light a bottlerocket in someones ass about it and start pointing fingers at you.

Our players now are robots. When I saw Burleson yelling at the refs/team/Carolina last night I wanted to cry. Put his ass in. He knows what it takes to be great and he'd do anything short of death to get there... that's how he was.

We need more of that. Gavin Grant was the only player I saw last night with the "How the fuck did this happen" look on his face.

New course offering for Fall 2006: How to hate Carolina 101

I'll volunteer to be the professor, but I'll need assistants. This class will be offered to all incoming freshmen, and all current athletes that are NOT from the state of North Carolina.

This class will teach all the importances of hating Carolina on AND off the court. We'll go over all the things that make Carolina soo easy to hate, and how one can get adrenaline from it. Field trips will include a trip to Chapel Hill to dye fountains red and plaster NC state logos EVERYWHERE, and to Walmart to observe the Walmart Nation fanbase in their natural habitats.

There is no book for this course, but there should be. I will be writing my book for this course over the coming years, and student input is greatly appreciated. The title of my book will be "Intentional Fouls: Carolina's Dark-Side Exposed".
