I believe that when our bball team disgraces us like this, it damages the productivity (temporarily) of our school by hurting our collective morale.

whew. well there was a major gap between the nonstop noise and effort the fans put forth last night and the way the team played on the floor. they disgraced us last night. it was embarrassing for us all.

um, even the announcers commented on how NC State fans were quieted by UNC. not to mention they also brought up the fact that everyone was leaving early.

i'm not saying the fans were at fault, i'm just saying it was not non-stop.

You cant ask for much more from the fans. We were loud until we fucked up that run with about 10 minutes left in the game and gave them a 20 point lead.


Nobody in the country is gonna watch a team play with that little energy and be as loud as we were. Fuck our basketball team. Anyone who bitches about the fans last night ought to have a stick shoved in their ass. We were GREAT, and the team was SHIT.

^^ uconn last year was a pretty big game, duke a couple years ago when they were # 1 was a pretty big game, the GW and BC games this year were pretty big.

I am definately not denying that we choke an unusual amount, and something needs to change. But its not the coaching staff. Coaches arent stagnant. They learn and change just like players. Ive seen Herb take this team from gutter to yearly NCAA contender, and I have faith he can adapt to his new recruits and take us further.

People think we have some kind of 'right' to be champions immediately or something. We dont. People also ignore the blatant improvement of this program they have brought, and its sad.

I think its just that people devote a lot of time and energy to supporting this team and last night, they looked like they didnt care.


I'm gonna stop talking about this. Everything I say gets taken out of context. (not here necessarily). I'm not gonna stop supporting the team, but if my team is gonna come play a huge game like they dont care who wins, then I'm gonna be a little upset about it.

I feel I have that right after spending so much energy cheering for them. I'm about over it now though.

thing is i want herb gone b/c he hasn't changed. if he does, then it's as good as getting a new coach. he has improved yes, but we still see the same things plaguing our team 6 years ago. he hasn't adapted nearly as well as he should.

and fans demanding change will help bring it about.

oh and what herb needs to do is scrap this offense and recruit athletes. see what they did to us last night?

Herb just needs to focus on getting our guys fired up for big games and rebounding. Us getting pounded by "athletes" last night was the result of us standing around picking our noses, not recruiting "unathletic" players.

Did we jump for a rebound last night?

it was the result of both. white boys can't jump (ie evtimov). athletes can. yes, us not getting rebounds is mainly b/c we don't have the desire (herb's fault) but u also said it yourself, we didn't jump. most athletes do.

Athletes are slowly working there way in guys. Last year all 3 are athletes: Ced, Brack, and Gavin. This year 2 of them are athletes in Fells and Costner. Next year I dunno what to expect. Chris Wright is an athlete.
