i've found that there is something really alluring about a good rock band with a female lead singer. some like evanescense (although most people for some reason either love or really hate them), lacuna coil, etc. really get to me. i recently started listening to paramore and i really like the girls vocals and she's only 17.

does anyone know of any other good rock bands with female lead singers?

These are more on the punk side of things, but check out "Los Angeles" by X or the self titled Post Regiment LP

Granted I've only heard one song from them, but the Yeah Yeah Yeahs! spring to my mind.

Two words: Black Tongue.

i hope paramore has improved since their first tour cause the lead singer was kinda bad at that point...

i used to like One True Thing, but haven't heard anything of theirs in a while...

PJ Harvey is probably one of the most underrated female musicians... i'm always surprised by how many people have never heard of her or how many only know "down by the water"

^^^ The Breeders are third on my list.

^ That's a bit of a stretch, but if VU counts, so should Pixies.

Pixies should count, seeing as "Gigantic" is one of the greatest female rock vocal performances ever.
