last time i was in a non oceananic boat was a lil bass boat with a built 4.3 and i got hooked. something about doing 80mph across hyco lake and not being able to close your eyelids. 2/24/2006 8:28:45 PM |

yeah, it's def. a blast. 75-100 on water is like the thrill of going 125-150 in a car. sure does hurt when you bust ass going any faster than 50-55 though... 2/24/2006 8:30:41 PM |

Thursday I'll be running around Jordan Lake or Harris breaking mine in so that when spring hits I'll be running around at 60+... gotta love 70+ degrees in the first week in March!2/25/2006 9:41:23 PM |

really? that's pretty impressive for that boat/motor combo if so. i know stingray makes some nice hulls, but that's damn good if it can roll 60+ with that motor. 2/25/2006 10:08:20 PM |

We put in my parent's 22' boat with a 4-cyl 98 Accord several times. I've also used a 4-cyl Ranger and various other sketchy vehicles.

Its not so much power to pull it around as it is to stop it. Nothing scarier than being pushed through an intersection by your trailer. Also the longer wheelbase vehicle you have keeps the sway to a min. 2/26/2006 9:46:39 PM |

^^ Def. true. In all fairness, we only have to pull the boat a couple hundred yards to put it in. We're not towing it down any public roads. Getting it in is no problem. Getting it out takes some clutch manipulation. 2/26/2006 10:36:21 PM |

its a 18' w/ a Cobra 3.0 4banger. from what i read its a 130-140hp motor 2/27/2006 10:00:47 AM |

yeah speedo reading, hasn't been clocked
as for the stingray, like I said that's their claim, and i've talked to plenty of people who have them and they flat out fly... it'll be 20 hours before I can WOT for a good period of time, so we'll see2/27/2006 10:26:01 AM |

so how much power do you need to pull up a skiier on a slalom ski from a deepwater start? (and not some dude who's God's gift to waterskiing...just an average skiier without struggling). 7/18/2008 8:03:13 PM |

depends on the hull, prop, weight of the skiier id reckon 7/19/2008 9:23:25 AM |
