the integrated graphics card worries me, as well as the 333mhz ram and the nonadvertized rpm of the hard drive, is it worth the extra 3-400 bucks to get a dell with 7200rpm and better ram and non integrated card? thanksss

The one you linked to is $1600 and has an Integrated ATI Mobility Radeon 9700 (M11) 128 MB dedicated video memory

That's not a big deal since it has dedicated memory.

but it's way overpriced, fyi.

Umm that's an awful laptop for the price. Just awful. It's not really a laptop as much as a mobile desktop, and it's not a very powerful mobile desktop.

Go to dell.com/ncstate if you want to configure a 17 inch laptop. Select full catalog and go to town.

If you REALLY want a 17 inch laptop, then go with the XPS m170 or the Inspiron E1705. You'll end up spending about 1900 on either if you want it to have a good graphics card and a gig of ram, but they will utterly DESTROY the thing you linked up there.

If you don't need a 17 inch gaming laptop, then go with one of dells 15.4 inch alternatives (still widescreen). They're significantly more portable and still have a large screen.

You could also get an Area-51® m5700 from alienware for a little more than you've got that thing up there linked for.
