Could get some good future or current pick, I'd like to see how this will shake out, I dont really want to see him in a Texans uniform anyway...

oh my god.

A professional sports team making a wise decision?

Simply isnt the norm these days...

That team was fucking horrible and it wasnt because of Domanick Davis Ill tell you that.

I think Carr can be okay too... I dont understand why teams draft QB's if they dont plan on ever giving them a shot...

I agree, I kinda thought Bush would touch the ball a lot (special teams, slot receiver, running back) but for keeping him healthy and not letting him get beat up (like Cadillac Williams) they wouldnt make him the every down guy... I never thought Domanick Davis was a bad back, hes pretty much the same type as LenDale white

Drafting what you need and passing on a superstar isnt always a good thing. See Sam Bowie over MJ. I just dont see how you can pass on Reggie Bush. Trade Davis for some linemen. Bush is the real deal.

^the two are unrelated

you cant just pick the best player in the draft and assume your team is going to automatically be better, this isnt basketball, it doesnt work that way

yeah I see Bush being in the highlights every week, but so will David Carr, for getting sacked a million times... they need blocking, doesnt matter whos running

not taking bush would be a huge mistake, if you want linemen, pick them up in free agency.

THey arent passing on Reggie Bush they are trading down.

There is a huge difference.

Now if they drafted D'Brickashaw #1 they'd be fucking morons.

But if they can pick up #5 overall and a future 1st rounder or a guy like John Abraham they'd be stupid not to.

The Chargers didnt pass up Mike Vick or Eli Manning they just ransomed them off to the highest bidder.

Yeah, are there any decent linemen in Free Agency this year?

Having a great RB means nothing if the blocking is as bad as it was last year. I used to flip to Texans games just to count the time Carr spent in the pocket before he had to move to avaoid the rush, and it was frequently 2 seconds or less.

Trade down, get some picks, maybe even a OL in return. They can always sign a RB just as easily if they really wanted one.

I saw just about every Texans game last year (Dom Davis on the ole fantasy team)

That line was atrocious.

And believe it or not, their run defense was WORSE.

You could give that team Lawrence Taylor, Joe Montana, and Pete Stoyanovich in their prime and they still wouldn't make the playoffs.

^^not Reggie, the dude is amazing. It is gale sayers all over again. You cant trade out of that.

[Edited on February 27, 2006 at 11:56 AM. Reason : plus, who is going to generate more ticket sales, Reggie or some linemen, the texans need exposure]

I've heard the Sayers comparisons, but the one that will be legit is the injury bug that will hit Bush if he runs behind that line as it is now. They are that bad.

Houstons expansion wave for tickets/merchandise sales may have crested, but they can sell Edgerrin james or Shaun Alexander jerseys, and build a line in the process.

The long term of a major deal can be greater than 1 player. Look at the Herschel Walker deal. Even the SD deals recently got them a great nucleus.

^i can understand why the would trade down, but everyone has to remeber that before his (as espn said) horrible rose bowl game (in which he gained almost 300 all purpose yards and had an amazing td in which he flew) he was being called the greatest college player ever. If i was a GM i couldnt even consider not drafting him. The business is all about money, not results on the field, and who do you think will generate more money, Reggie, thats why i will be shocked if they dont draft him.

i said in another thread they should trade the pick to the jets for abraham, #4 pick, possibly more and draft ferguson there.

bush won't do a damn thing for them except boost jersey sales and get injured

Oh i'd be shocked if they don't draft him. But they're be much much better off trying to put together and O and D line. If they take Bush, they better spend every other pick on these positions and forget about everything else.

This game is a lot about money but still you need results on the field... I think they can get more for that pick than Bush himself will gain them on the field

You arent quite getting this.

Reggie Bush might be the best NFL player ever for all I know.

But there are 53 guys on a roster.

And they already have a good RB.

Their team fucking blows.

If they draft Bush they might go 4-12.

That sucks.

He will probably hold out so long on his contract trying to make mega bucks, he wont even be in a training camp....

Reminds me of Prime Time's draft day quote, when asked: "so Deion how do you feel about getting drafted by the Falcons"

He Said "I was getting worried the Lions were gonna get me, and I was going to ask for so much money, theyd have to put me on Lay-away"

The Texans drafting Bush would turn him into Kijana Carter v2.0.

It's amazing Carr can still even walk.

bttt

on ESPN last night the guy from Houston said they still werent sure...

As dumb as that may be, he did think Mario could be the number 1 pick in the draft...

Also Reggie Bush is petitioning the league to wear number 5

Just like Mario's will be ruined if he goes to the Saints.

Because it's the fucking Saints.

They may not pick him... ESPN was talking about them possibly taking AJ Hawk or another guy

in that case, Mario would probably slide past the teams that are drafting a QB, and hopefully end up with a better team

^If they did that with the #1 pick, then you might as well make a video montage of Texans fans just like the Jets video from a while back (hard for me to watch, but still funny). They would be pissed.

The Texans should draft him and then trade him away, I think.

They don't need him. They need an Oline.
