They mentioned this in a news article awhile back ... something to the effect of they wanted to change their image and style to more of a portal type thing.

a posting on slashdot (http://slashdot.org/articles/06/03/30/1445216.shtml) got me to try ask.com today for my searches. i agree with the points in the review and really like some of the features ask is using (particularly the narrow/broader search recommendations). The binoculars are also pretty cool.

I installed the ask.com search in firefox and am going to try it out for a couple days (since i do 20+ searches a day at work). I do like how google pushes their ads out of the way compared to how ask.com lists ads above the search results.

anyone else like the new features?
