I would have posted in this thread (http://www.thewolfweb.com/message_topic.aspx?topic=325347), but it's older than 90 days.

I'm looking to temp in Raleigh, and the companies that I've saw listed in the other thread were Ajilon, Gree Group, and Accountemps. Any other recommendations in-town? I'm trying to find a full-time meteorology job, and there's very little available right now, so I want to find something that'll get me at least $10 an hour until I find a meteorology job.

I'd probably be looking for some kind of generic office work, since I have decent computer knowledge and good typing skills.

Kelly and Manpower have been VERY good to my mother. Kelly found her long-term work within a week of being laid off, and Manpower did the same just recently in 3 days.

A friend of mine works at One Source, and they do a great job finding jobs for people.

Go with Aerotek. They have been wonderful to my husband. He is making $11.15/hr right now as a forklift driver. He has an option to work overtime and normally gets paid btw $450-$600 a week. Also, just a thought: the people that got hired at the same jobsite that my husband works for said that in their experience Manpower tends to start people off making lower than some of the other Temp agencies (like Aerotek). A couple of guys who went through Manpower are doing the exact same thing my husband is doing now at the same jobsite and are making $8.50/hr.

bttt. Anybody have any other suggestions/recommendations/testimonials? I've been sick for the last 2 weeks, so I'm finally getting around to pick a company to look at later this week.

Consider a small, local firm since they'll work harder to place you somewhere you'll be happy.

Call Kimberly at Elinvar, or walk up to the office on Hillsborough St.

Accountemps put me in a position that went from 3 days to 5 months, significantly different job duties and no increase in pay. I requested another assignment, and they basically ignored me because the customer was happy and they were making bank. I called my friend at another agency and she had a job for me inside of 2 weeks. After 2 months I got hired on and have been there over a year now.

Thanks for the referral, chocoholic. Actually, you will need to talk to Kim at Elinvar or you can send a resume to careers@elinvar.com. You may have done so already (I have some mail I didn't get to today) and if so, we will call you tomorrow.

I have accepted a position at Lulu http://www.lulu.com as a Recruiter... we will be hiring some folks too so I'll keep you in mind even when I'm no longer at Elinvar.

Even though I'm leaving, I definitely recommend working with Elinvar on temporary or direct hire jobs - they are a great group!
