Lewis Black was fucking great.

I just read an interview with Demitri in this month's Believer. I had no idea the guy was 32. He looks about 15. Also, dunno if this is common knowledge or not, but he dropped out of NYU law school (with a full scholarship) with one year to go to start doing comedy.

The show was awesome, he did over an hour and a half set. Longest show I've ever seen, and way up there as one of the funniest (and I've seen Hedberg and Lynch). He only repeated like two jokes from his Comedy Central stand up. And at the end he took requests, answered questions, and told more stories for about 30 minutes, after his set was over. Then he went to the lobby for at least an hour to sign stuff and meet people. Total experience was about 3 hours long, and free (for students), from the UAB!

His CD comes out this August.

My friends were insistent that we leave as soon as the questions session started so we wouldn't miss Scrubs. Granted, Scrubs is an awesome show, but I was sad I missed all that bonus stuff, because the show was fuckin' brilliant.

my friend planned the event, he's in charge of Leisure and Entertainment for the UAB, and he just got back at 11pm, he said Demetri was still there talking to people and about to go to Sushi Blues and some club. So he spent at least an hour and a half meeting his fans and hanging around in the lobby, seriously a hard working guy that deserves to succeed.

i asked him about the law school thing. he said he went for 2 years and it just got real boring, too many details and he would rather fool around doing stand up instead.

good show, id rank it up there w/ some of the best ive seen.
