ran over a bottle of spray paint (bright yellow) and it got onto my fairly nice paint job (gray/silver). It only got the back passenger tire and part of the back passenger door. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get it off?

Seems like paint thinner would take ALL the paint off your car! Is it just speckles of paint or is it pretty well covered? Speckles can probably be taken off with Clay Magic (Autozone). I would ask someone at Autozone or maybe a Car Detail Shop... I wouldn't use paint thinner though...

i use gas followed by lots of water to remove tar and other shit. dont let the gas sit long on the paint or it will rock your clear coat.

you could try rubbing compound, but it may be too course for the clear coat

polishing compound if rubbing compound is too course. It may take you a while rubbing but it will come off.

as long as its still kinda fresh, just use paint thinner. dont let it sit though, just wipe it right off and it shouldnt damage the clear coat

laquer thinner, and lots of clean rags, then re-wax the area, i've done it on many vehicles and it works fine without damaging the clearcoat.

I ran over fresh paint markings on the road once and got some splatter on ther rear quarter. My body man gave me a spare bottle of something marked 'Speedy 500' or something to that effect. I believe it's actually marketed as a tire cleaner. Probably a mixture of mineral spirits and something else. Anyways, stuff works like a champ. Can easily dull the paint if you're not cautious, but worked wonders with some practice...

mineral spirits. i know that takes tar off...dunno about spray paint though. it wont mess up the clear coat either if your careful and put lots of water on it afterwords

Thanks, we got it off! My friend immediately used paint thinner on it, which made me really nervous. But he wiped it off and rinsed it after each swipe. It's all pretty much gone, but you can still seem some bright yellow in the crevices.
