anyone know where i can get full hides (or, at least, very large pieces) of leather (green or tanned, doesn't matter)?
also, anyone know where i can get hard rubber matting? i'm looking for something tire-grade, or at least as thick/durable as those rubber truck bed liners...and i need the actual matting, not used tires
i doubt i'll even get any replies, but eh 3/2/2006 5:24:28 PM |

I know where about 50 pieces of thick rubber matting is located, what are you looking to pay for the stuff? It is very expensive, these pieces are 4' by 6' 3/4/2006 10:01:14 PM |

I think you can get a hide on Ebay. Do not know how easy it is going to be to find elsewhere. 3/5/2006 12:14:05 AM |

there was a booth at the flea market at the fairgrounds called horns and hides, they had some nice hides tanned and hair on. they are in one of the old buidlings at the front. 3/5/2006 10:12:09 AM |

^^^^ i need it to withold abrasion (like truck bed lining, tires, and shoe outsoles do)
^^^ i haven't been able to find anything that was larger than 12"x12"...and that leather was like suede or super-soft leather...i'm looking for rougher, thicker hide leather
^^ i don't know why i didn't think of that...really, that should have been my first stop (seriously, no sarcasm)
^ thanks for the tip...i may try to stop by there next weekend 3/5/2006 2:19:51 PM |

The rubber matting I am referring to is used in horse stalls, and it is comparable to car tires, as far as the strength and durability. 3/6/2006 12:00:27 PM |
