twice today, i've left my comp only to return to it at the sign in screen. there's no error messages and i'm not running any programs that "restart computer after finishing".

i thought it might have something to do with automatic updates, but i have that toggled to "install when i say so"

is there a log file of some sort to check?

start...settings...control panel...system..."advanced" tab, under "startup and recovery" click settings, under "system failure" see if automatically restart is checked...if it is, uncheck it...now, if you're getting a critical failure, you'll be able to see the blue screen of death and determine what's failing and causing the reboot (if this is the problem)

yeah, it's a hit or miss thing

i'm getting a torrent file but it's only like 10% finished so that's a possiblity i guess, but doesn't seem likely as

1)the torrent isn't finished during a restart and

2)there's not even an option for restarting in the torrent program

also, the drive i'm downloading to has plenty of space


ah, and i've only noticed this problem when the computer goes idle.

something about an IRQ setting not equal or something. no time to fix at the moment, i have to go to work.

What kind of computer is it?

NDIS has to do with a network card driver... try reinstalling any drivers you have for your network card.
