But as of lately we always take the foot off the gas and suffer for it at the end...this is an anual tradition that I have come to expect and tolerate for the fact of "school spirit".

That has not happened this year, and it won't happen for that same reason.

This simply isn't true at all. This season is a complete invert of seasons past. The past 3-5 years before this one, it was always start out slow, lose games we shouldn't, do dumb shit, then finally start getting on the same page and playing in the end. I attribute that to a whacky offense and the time it takes to get used to it. This year, we have a lot of experienced people so we didn't have to go through the learning phase. Like others said, we got into uncharted territory, and the lack of a true leader (ala Jules) and the lack of a motivating coach meant that we didn't get the ship righted and play with urgency.

I don't think we have enough guys on our team with a chip on their shoulder and it will show in both tourneys. UNC and all their second teir guys had something to prove. Duke has everyone gunning for them on any given night, so they have something to prove. NCSU was lauded pre season and all season and didn't have any naysayers and it is showing.

Mark my words, this will come to pass.

He was talking about our loyal fans, but our shitty teams. He says the teams play well enough just to get everyone excited, then have a CRASH....just like now, but then we usually make some kind of run to shut up the Herb/Amato haters in the offseason. He said its a vicious cycle where they get our hopes up only to bring them crashing down. I thought it was pretty acurate.

Excuse me for being in Law School...and having less than 2 hours of leisure per day if I am lucky...but since I just finished my last midterm today and 2 PM, thought I would watch ACC tourney...tried to keep up with team with ESPN, News, and Paper...glad I did b/c I found my number one team pulling a Houdini at the end of the season...Nothing changed
