log into the computer thats hooked to the printer using remote desktop (or vnc if remote desktop is unavailible). Then print like normal.

the idea behind remote desktop and vnc is that you actually take the normal output from the computer and send it to a remote computer as well as capturing your input from remote keyboard and mouse.

so basicly you setup either VNC or remote desktop on your computer at home.

then when on vacation you use the remote desktop client or vnc client to connect into your home computer.

Once logged in its like you're right there at your computer. Everything works like normal.

tutorials on how to setup remote desktop or vnc should be easily obtainable via a google search. If you need more specific questions answered ask them here.

If you're running Windows XP, here is what I would do.

1) Install your printer on your home PC and make sure it functions properly.
2) Right mouse click on 'My Computer'>'Properties'>'Remote' tab -->Check the "Allow users to connect remotely to this computer" check box.
3) 'Start'>'Control Panel'>'Windows Firewall'>'Exceptions' Tab --> Make sure Remote Desktop is checked
4) If you have a router, port forward port 3389 otherwise move on to step 5.
5) Sign up for and download the No-IP.com Dynamic DNS update client that can be found here: http://www.no-ip.com/downloads.php for free.
6) Then simply log onto your home PC and do whatever you like.

^IF he is running XP Pro at home, if not he's gonna have to go with VNC. I still can't for the life of me understand why people buy XP Home.

I can get it to work using remote desktop...is that the same as teh no-ip.com software?

What I really want is to just put my printer on the internet for anyone to use...is that possible?

This way, I can still use my alt-tab and mouse scroll, and not deal w/ the slow remote desktop.
