seriously, who the hell else are we going to get thats any better than Herb? Some guy from the MVC? We'd be in the same damn spot we were in 10 years ago.

We're fucked. Whatever. Herb, please leave and tell everyone to kiss your ass on the way out. Go back home to Pittsburgh and Duquense and dominate the A-10. We dug a grave by acting like a bunch of spoiled children, and we're gonna lie in it.

why the fuck would mark few leave gonzaga for nc state on the east coast?

if he was interested in leaving, dont you think Stanford or UCLA would have grabbed him by now?

and if we want a coach thatll get us sanctioned, Snyder>Calipari. Calipari's hardest conference coached in= the A-10

^^UCLA had an opening a few years back

so did Stanford, and theyre in a better situation than us

i like how people think that present-day NC State is on level with all these other contenders

and Morrison hasnt been there the past 8 years when hes stayed put. look at all the other better openings that have been there in the past few years.

There's no way Few would leave Gonzaga just to be bitched at here.

He's god-like there.

RARELY does a big name/school coach come to the ACC. If you look at ACC coaches over the years, only a handful were taken from prominent programs and most of those were "coming home" type situations (like Roy Williams).

Its funny how Herb Sendek's teams have gone just as far as Mark Few's teams in the last 3 NCAA tournaments. Last year farther than they went. Yeah hire him.

If Mark Few is all you can muster up, then you either need to try harder or quit bitching about Herb.

maybe so, but few is doing it with far less talent and with a smaller budget / school.

btw, why the fuck would you want to go "dominate the A-10?" While we're at it, lets go kick ass in intramural softball!

Herb is mediocre. I would be more than willing to take a chance with someone else at this point. Herb has plateaued, we aren't getting any better than this.

First move is throw everything you got at Rick Barnes. He is from NC, and he does hate Duke and UNC with a passion. If he doesn't come then do a nationwide search and get a proven winner who has been at whatever school they are at for more than 5 years and has shown an ability to recruit well and win big games. Plus someone who has been in coaching for more than 10 years total. Herb was only 35 when State hired him and had only been the HC at Miami of Ohio for three years, IIRC. He was only an assitant under Pitino for 8 years before that. Get someone with more experience.

All I'm saying is you never know. Texas basketball will always be second to Texas football, if the big money folks put up the cash, you never know.

I'm tired of settling. If you don't try to get the big fish, who knows if you could.

i dont think we are going to get barnes, but the last couple posts definately speak to the attitude around here

chapel hill got Royboy from Kansas, fucking KANSAS, a top 5 team nearly every year he was there, and they still felt entitled to get Roy b/c he was one of their GUYS, and chapel hill has a devine right to get what they want

but anytime somebody mentions barnes, there is a shitstorm of, "why wouldn't he leave texas". "why would he ever do that" and "no fucking way"

why, that is all i ask, why....what is the difference, is NC State not good enough, is it so crazy that a coach of a big twelve team would want to come to the ACC, is it crazy that we could actually shell out the money, or what?

They just live in negativism and want to ridicule the people that have been right for years and years.

You never know until you actually make a call.

We could do worse than Herb, but we can do better. There are plenty of coaches out there who would love to have a chance here. Barnes may not come...... Calipari may not come.

Either way, if a racehorse has a broken leg... you shoot it. You don't wait and say "but what horse do we have to replace it".

I think Herb may be looking elsewhere after this season anyways.... I don't blame him, and I don't mind either. He's not taking us anywhere with this offense

ive been a supporter of herb for a long time... but like packbacker said, sometimes you just have to know when to move on....

He has done a great job in improving our program, and I say now is the time, with some young talent and a strong big man, to lure in a coach who knows what to do with top level talent.

I just cannot see us getting any huge inside recruits with the way simmons has been underutilized.

Hell, to tell you the truth, If Herb were to come out and say "Alright, fuck it. Screw this Princeton shit. I'm gonna run the offense I learned under Rick Pitino that I promised I'd run when I got this job ...and I'm gonna start it next season... with a true PG and a utilized big man" I'd be all in for Herb as our head coach.

It's the offense that kills us. I don't think Herb is a good in-game coach... but when you run an offense that consists of 50% of your shots being 3's, no rebounding, and failing to utilize one of the most athletic big men on the East Coast you aren't doing a good job in my book.

^I agree with that mostly. Some of the big man burden falls on Ced and Brack. Ced has got to develop better hands so he can get easy looks.

Ced has got to develop go-go-gadget arms to catch some of the entry passes to him.

Speaking of, did anyone notice yesterday that most of our scoring came off of fast breaks and pushing the ball up the court with Bennerman and Grant? We really didn't score consistently with our "offense"

Also, why didn't we press? Wake is the worst ballhandling team in the country.... they're also very very thin. Give them a full court press, wear them out, and with a lack of a point guard, they'd start looking like...well, NC State trying to break the press

"Even more troubling for the Wolfpack is that its big men - Cedric Simmons, Ilian Evtimov, Andrew Brackman and Ben McCauley - had exactly two rebounds between them."

This is not all Herb's fault. Yes this 4-game skid is mostly from coaching. Ill admit that. Part of it is our players just not giving a damn. But I dunno. Im really at a loss right now of what has happened. Hopefully we make a good NCAA run to the Sweet Sixteen again.

^I actually was thinking the same thing. Especially when Harvey Hale was running point.

It's hard to get a rebound when you're stuck out at the 3 point line all game.

And on defense... man, I loved the Ilian Evtimov / Eric Williams matchup defensively. Great call. Evtimov almost stopped him once... I remember

Haha I agree with that. IE has lost all of ability at all (what little he had) to defend in the post. He has a 3 inch vertical and cannot rebound. All he is good for is 3s and he isnt even shooting them and when he does he hasnt been making.
