So my brother is getting rid of all his old collectibles and has said I could have them if I wanted to sell them. What I want to know is: would it be worth my time? Do the old toys even go for anything? They're all out of box but in perfect condition. We have pretty much everything they sold back then, all the stuff on vh1's I <3 toys at least. A plane hanger, all those starship things, ton tons, those big walking guys. All the little figures too. If I cnan find it we have the Vader head those figures go in as well. GI Joe's as well, but I figured those weren't really worth the effort. Any ideas?

depends. They are really only worth money if they are rare AND/OR they have ALL their pieces.

Meh, you might not be able to get a whole lot of money for them, but surely you know somebody nerdy enough to want them.

If you have the storage space, take them. Even if you don't touch them for five years, they may be worth something.

I'm not a collector, so I can't give good advise where to start going to get those appraised. I would call around a couple comic shops, or better yet, see if you can take it to the Hereo's Comic Convention in Charlotte and get a couple of estimates.

^storing a star wars hanger the size of my bedroom and hauling my ass to a nerdfest would be considered too much trouble.

if they are in good shape they are worth a pretty penny. if you have any error figures, they are worth gold. its worth it to go get a collectibles magazine and check against what he has.

i sold my star wars stuff about 10 years ago. For the AT-AT, Ewok Village, speeder, x-wing, y-wing and about 15 figures, a couple in box, I got about 600 bucks.

http://tinyurl.com/qyl8g [ebay, vintage starwars]

kind of hit and miss on ebay
some of the planes go for over 40 each, some go for five, depending on model and condition

Oh, hmm, we have all that shit, mayhaps I'll bother myself with it for some $$ for Japan. I'm pissed at him for not handing it over when the movies were out and all the hubbub was bigger though.
