Cat's body temperatures and human body temperatures differ...cat's temps are normally higher than ours. Therefore, the germs cannot thrive openly in both environments...so, you're probably safe. 3/12/2006 5:39:44 PM |

I've read that cats (isolated case) can harbor viruses. There was a cat in NY that carried strep that only affected humans. Kept her owner ill for a while.3/12/2006 8:04:30 PM |

Yes, animals can be carriers of a human virus or bacteria but not be infected themselves. It goes the other way too. By in large, there are not really any communicable illnesses to worry about. 3/13/2006 10:06:40 AM |
