Looking to see who is actually going to trade in or sell their DS for the new DS Lite.

Also, looking for personal opinions on the "improvements" on the Lite, and if they make it worth the purchase.

i can't wait to get my hands on the ds lite. there really is no reason to buy it, unless money is just burning your pocket, and you want it. it does have a better screen, and screen adjustments, sleeker, so it would not be a total waste of money.

comparison

everyone says the original ds is on the ugly side
I bought a black (graphite?) ds from some importer site and it doesnt look bad (it came set in japanese though, kinda funny trying to find the english language option)

but they'll do the exact same thing, play the same games etc..

and the ds lite is only availible in japan for now at raised prices because of scarcity..

I haven't noticed enough difficulty with the screen lighting to justify a new console. The pushing factors of being 21% smaller and 40% lighter seem appealing, but as much as I love gadgets, I think it's overkill (same with those fucking razor/sliver phones).

I'll probably just stick to the current DS and save my money for the Revolution.

It's definitely a better designed device, but I've had zero problems with screen brightness on my DS and I won't get one unless I've got some money I don't want.

I'm assuming that a brighter screen would result in a shorter battery life? I don't think a smaller DS will necessarily be better in some situations. Take first person shooters for example, when I play Goldeneye on the DS, it is just barely comfortable. If they made it smaller, it would be a lot more awkward and I'm quite sure my hand would cramp up after a while.

That alone is worth the price of an upgrade IMO. If EB does some sort of trade in program like they did with the slim PS2 I'll probably pick one up.
