This is built in to osx. You have to use some queer libraries to break this in OS X. Coincidentally, this never worked in firefox

^ It is one of my favorite new features in OS X. Adium X does the "red underline" and although Safari doesn't you can still spot-spellcheck and define words in it.

^um, safari does have it. Right click any text box and turn it on. any app that uses cocoa libraries should have it.
