I'm trying to find another FM transmitter for my video ipod....since my old one doesn't work anymore with it

It's between
1. Itrip Auto http://www.buy.com/retail/product.asp?sku=202189895&loc=101&sp=1
2. iRiver AFT 100http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/customer-images/B00067LYFW/ref=cm_ciu_pdp_images_0/103-1446136-4159811?%5Fencoding=UTF8&s=pc&index=0#gallery
3. Griffin Road Trip http://www.buy.com/prod/Griffin_RoadTrip_Charcoal_FM_Transmitter_Car_Charger_for_iPod_iPod/q/loc/101/202009322.html

what do you guys think? I would like one that also has a charger with it

I've liked the iRiver one when I've used it. Sounded much better than the itrip I used. I haven't used any of the new generation of itrips, so I don't know if they're any better though. The one thing about the iRiver AFT is that it does not charge your ipod, it just doesn't draw any power from the ipod.

I've got one of these cheap bastards. Except I got mine at Walmart for about $17. It's a freakin steal as far as FM transmitters go, IMO. I've never really heard the ones you listed but it works better than my gf's Belkin one did that cost ~$50. There's a little background static, but you can't hear it when anything is playing. There's a bunch more success stories on this thing on the ilounge forums but I don't feel like looking up the link.

If you decide to try it, make sure NOT to get the one that plugs into the data port and charges your ipod, it's a raging POS

do any of you realize how much money you spend on these pieces of crap? i mean, come on...you could get a new mp3 head unit for your car and a nice non-ipod portable mp3 player for the amount of money you spend on apple trash

This one is great: http://eshop.macsales.com/item/Newer%20Technology/ROADTRIP879/ so I'm assuming the one with the charger would work as well:

i have the Monster car charger/FM transmitter in one (its an all black cord that plugs into the dock connector on the bottom of the ipod) and i cant live without it, esp. on long road trips. i got it from the apple store but i think you can also buy it at the ncsu bookstore.

the sound quality is excellent...never once had to change stations or had any static whatsoever.

i use to have an iTrip by Griffin and teh sucked. def. dont get one of them if you want good quality transmit

Buy a new radio for your car with aux inputs and don't waste your money on FM.

once again i dont want to get a stereo in my car since there is a possibility of me changing cars in the next month or two..so that would be a complete waste

Not really, though. Where I work we take it back out of the car for free and put the stock unit back in. You'd just have to pay to put itback in the next car...

much better investment, though, than those shitty wireless modulators. blah.

The fm transmitters are garbage, especially around Raleigh where there are so many radio stations. You're cheating yourself if you don't wire it directly to your stereo.

^Pretty much how I feel, which is why I got a http://densionusa.com/merchant/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=DU&Category_Code=IA .

Probably too expensive for what it is (basically a really fancy wire) , but then again, iPods are stupid expensive too. Plus, there is something to be said for a product that does EXACTLY what it says its supposed to do without fail. Listen to, control, and charge your iPod through your car stereo all with one wire.
