the animators of "Waking Life" gave a presentation to NCSU's College of Design just before the film was released -- pretty fascinating stuff. I believe they created a program from scratch to allow them to do what they did in that film (of course other rotoscoping stuff already existed).

i just watched Trailer 2 on Apple's site, and I'm a lot more interested now. looks great.

I've been looking forward to this for a while. I've been lending out my copy of the book to some friends; I doubt the movie will be able to fully capture all the themes of the book. And for fuck's sake, why Keanu Reeves?

I loved the book, looking forward to the movie. I adore that animation style, and also that there's a viable reason to use it based on the story--other than the fact it looks freaking cool.
