^^ how good or bad a team does has nothing to do with the amount of stuff to talk about concerning them... in fact, I would say that when a team that is normally pretty good or is predicted to have a good year has a down year then there is more to talk about then when they do what was expected

With me, I don't like to go to the boards when the team is sucking. I barely even came to Sports Talk when we had our recent 4-game losing streak in basketball because I don't like to see idiotic posting.

So for me, I visit and post more when we are doing well then when we are doing bad.

But that's just me. I don't know phishnlou's posting preference.

I wouldnt even use the close ties thing, if so, a large part of the country wouldnt have a NFL, MLB, or NBA team because there are only 32 cities with teams in them, if you are from Dicksnot Idaho you wont have a "close tie" to any professional teams... when you are young, you usually pick teams you like, MOST are usually because of a close tie, but not all. I dont care how you pick them as long as you stay with them through good and bad.
