I feel absolutely horrible for these kids. It pisses me off. They bust their ass game after game after ALL of them have undergone illnesses/injuries in their time here. The thanks they get after winning a NCAA tourney game is question after question about their fucking coach.

Their alumni support includes (but isn't limited to of cousre) constant bitching, whining, and hoping for losses so a coach is not back. Their are plenty of good fans who don't give a shit what it means if we win and want the kids to go out like they deserve to of course, but unfortunately they are overshadowed by those who LITERALLY want us to lose.

Listening to Tony and Cam you could see how frustrated they are. No one should have to answer questions like that as a player after winning a NCAA tournament game.

Bother the coach all you want. Bother the Ad all you want. Don't bother the fucking kids who bust their ass playing the game day after day after day.

And I also agree, leave the players alone, they obviously came to this school because they liked something they saw in Sendek and don't transfer cause they believe in the program. If the Coach has a potential problem in being able to stay around, questions should go to the AD... chancelor, other sports pundits....

leave the kids alone, give them the praise and recognition for beating a higher ranked seed and avenging a tourny loss from 3 years ago.

If you'll remember, it was the 4 or 5 news paper articles printed the day after the tournament loss that got peoples wheels turning.

I think everyone was just so fed up with losing that we took the articles seriously.

These are the same people that ran V out of town.

The media is trying to do the same to Sendek. All I know is that I cheered my ass off when we won that game the other night, and I've even been hard on Sendek recently. No REAL State fans cheer against the team.

Hopefully Cam and Tony know that its just the fucking retarded media blowing shit out of proportion.

After 10 years with no banners, you can expect some unrest. Any coach can have success in 5-6 in basketball no matter what the position.


Mike Kryzewski was on the firing line in his 2nd season. He recieved numerous death threats if he didn't step down. Duke was nowhere near the program NC State or UNC was at this time... K was called into the AD's office one day expecting to be fired after his 3rd season of nothingness... all of the alumni and fans wanted him out. Instead, the AD told him he was risking his career on this move, and handed him an extension. 3 years later, he took them to what... 4 straight Final Fours?

UNC students went around campus hanging dummy Dean Smith's by nooses in trees in his 3rd year.

UCLA fans wanted Lavin fired after something like 5 sweet 16's in 6 years.

Indiana fans are firing a coach that took them to a Final Four.


Gimme a break. Some of you obviously haven't followed college basketball very long. It happens everywhere that major college basketball is played... not just NC State.

If you have a serious conversation with anyone who wants to fire Herb, and you take the other stance, I guarantee that if you dont throw 20 WINS and 5 NCAA's in their face every 5 seconds, you can convince them that he's the best option.


Everyone that is bitching is doing so out of frustration, not from real hate. Nobody hates Herb. He just does shit that gets on their nerves a little too often, and shit hit the fan after the second Wake loss.

On the other hand, people HATED coach K in his first few years at Duke. People HATED Doherty at UNC. People HATE Mike Davis at Indiana. Everyone here knows that Sendek is a good coach, we're just frustrated that he cant quite get us to the next level.

20 wins and 5 ncaa tournament appearances in a row, while they should be convincing enough, are not the only thing we have going for us. i'd say even bigger than that is herb's age. the man is 43 years old. most of these coaches you keep comparing him to (K, Roy, etc) have more than 10 years of an experience edge on Herb.

He is getting better at what he does. He is going to make mistakes, and he has made plenty in the past, but he has a hell of a long time to learn from them and keep improving our program. We're still in this tournament, and we beat a 2-seed in this position last year.

at least we've never lost to a 13-seed in the first round in back to back years, or something equally horrible.

PackPride is a big bitch fest, but what does that have to do with the WPC? you don't automatically become a Herb Hater when you join. don't forget that the donations help the non-revenue sports as well. overall the WPC is a great organization that generates money for the student athletes in all sports. it's a shame that so many people who do join feel that it gives them a pass to complain about any and all aspects of wolfpack athletics. it is not an investment it is a donation.
